Speaking of timelines, ours got pushed back ANOTHER week. Now it's saying December 5th-10th? Originally we were like mid-November.

I am just so ready to start my married life and this is really disappointing!

Sounds like ours. We started out in Mid to Late November and now its December 9 to 14.

The wait sure stinks, but like I have said all along, if no RFE's and no other issues, I'll gladly take the wait. We were really hoping to be together before the holidays, but I don't see that happening. The main thing is stay positive, and one more day down = one day closer to being with the one you love. :D

There are lots of NOA2s coming in mail without an update on case tracker.

So... This whole process is definitely not for the faint of heart. Haha. I am not a patient person, and this is definitely teaching me a lesson!

The best piece of advice I can give you all is to take the estimate with a pinch of salt.

When we originally applied in April, our estimate was the middle of July. It kept being pushed further and further back and we eventually were approved on the 7th September.

As difficult as it is, please try to mentally prepare yourselves for your NOA2 to take 5 months. Anything sooner is a blessing!

Hello everyone! This is my first post in here, however I'm up to date on everyone's comments and now have more questions than ever. First of all, HI!!! My name is Kinsey and I'm from the US but have been living with my boyfriend in Argentina for two years in December. We met at a tech startup company in Austin, Texas in October of 2013. We've been living together since February of 2014 and have two fur babies that are 3 years old. I will continue to call him my boyfriend until the government grants us permission to get officially engaged.

Since I'm living in a country where it's not legal for me to work, my boyfriend is the bread winner and I don't have much savings. So here lies my question...What do I need to do to get a co-sponsor and how soon should I be doing this? I've seen that cases are denied because there aren't enough funds in the sponsors account and/or they don't have a job. He has more than enough money to cover us years and years forward but apparently that might look bad for us?

-Get my mom to co-sponsor?

-Move ahead of time and get a job and apartment?

-Move funds from his account to mine?

-Any other options that I haven't thought of?

24/7/17   - I-129F mailed to Lewisville, TX via FedEx

25/7/17   - I-129F received at Lewisville, TX

NO Email/Text   - NOA1 via SMS and e-mail - petition assigned to CSC

1/8/17    - NOA1 hardcopy via mail (hardcopy date:27/7/17) mailed to Argentina

X/X/17    - NOA2

X/X/17    - NVC received and case number assigned

X/X/17    - Case left NVC, status 'In Transit'

X/X/17    - Medical

X/X/17    - Consulate received

X/X/17    - Interview

X/X/17    - Visa in hand

X/X/17    - POE

Oh, I agree. I mentally prepared for this to take closer to 7 months, but it doesn't make it any easier. Haha.

My parents have agreed to co-sponsor my fiance. We are in the same position - I live abroad with no taxable income. You may want to consider moving back and establishing a domicile before he comes, though. If you can get a job that pays enough you won't need a co-sponsor.

Thanks for your quick reply! I'm wondering how much money I would need to make in order to be sufficient for the both of us? I'm a photographer and work for myself so getting a 9-5 job would only be to get through this part. Do you know how long I would have to keep the job? Do I need the job for a certain amount a time to start?

As far as a sponsor, I think my mom would sign on for that but I'd like to give her details before I talk to her. Does anyone have any links with more co-sponsor information? I've seen a few but there seems to be an inconsistency with the information.

Ugh, this is making me so nervous now!!!

Based on things ive seen through JV and USCIS website atleast....

Fiancé visa applicants are often asked to show that their sponsor is able to support them at 100% of the federal Poverty Guidelines.

These links should help.

Do not worry a co-sponsor should help

You should call! I sent my package on July 5th and today at 5pm I received a conformation that my case is sent the California Service Center.

Hi Rangu! Looks like we are having the same timeline here, I sent my package on July 5th as well and received NOA1 around the same day as you. Hopefully we can stay in touch and share our experiences throughout this long process.

So, I just realized, my case is almost 80 days old, which means even if it takes the usual 150-ish days I've been seeing around VJ, I'm more than half way through the waiting! That's got to be true for at least some of you other July filers, and should be true of more of you soon!

Yay for us!! It feels like just yesterday we were looking at the early 20's, but today we're at 58! WOOOOO! Time seems to be dragging by, but we're already about 1/3 of the way there at worst!
