Hi, I am a Feb. filer.

Processing time varies. However the average wait time is 3 months for NOA 2 approval.

Hello everyone!! I sent my petition on Thursday of last week, it got to the Dallas lockbox on Saturday, but still no email almost one week later saying that they opened it? And they check didn't clear in my bank yet. Is that normal? I'm just so excited and nervous and I want to make sure they got it!

It's not unheard of. Keep in mind the fact they picked your package from the lockbox on Saturday doesn't mean they opened it and processed it that same day. There's even a chance they didn't do so on Monday, since that's a busy day with hundreds and hundreds of all different kind of petitions. Then it was 4th of July, so that puts you on Wednesday, barely a couple of days ago.

Who knows? Your check might be cashed out today, and if not, don't panic, early next week no doubt :)

But yep, this first step before the long wait, until you know things are in motion, can be a bit stressful at times. Good luck!

Hey everyone, I my petition arrived to the lockbox on July 1st according to my tracking number. It's now the 11th and I haven't gotten an email or text saying that they opened it. Should I be worried? Is it bad to call them and ask? I'm stressing!

As what i've read from previous threads. The usual waiting time for the text/email.. average 7-10days.. some received it earlier than that..

I think the way it works, first, we have to receive a letter with case #. With the case #, you create an account with USIS  and afterward you receive email/text notifications when changes are made to your account. I called today to ask about the status of my documents they told me to wait for the letter.

You barely sent it on July 10th...they have probably picked it up today, depending where the petitioner lives, they will transfer it to that specific service center as well.

Also keep in mind, its been a dry week for Jan,Feb,March Filers getting their NOA2s. Regardless if you don't get an NOA1 notification this week, expect to get it next week.

Hello July Filers!!!! I'm a May filer but I wanted to congratulate you all on starting your journey.

For those waiting on the text/email notification, please keep in mind that with July 4th being a holiday, there might be a delay in receiving the NOA1 notice, but don't worry you all will receive it by regular mail. Also, the USCIS app or website does not always work accurately or can be down for "technical issues" (so they say). This will not have an affect on you receiving the NOA1. The NOA1 goes to the petitioner only and it will only list the beneficiary's name, not the beneficiary's children's names. Please do not worry about this as the child or children part of the process does not come into play until it's time for the beneficiary to fill out the DS-160 and the children that are joining or accompanying the beneficiary to the US can be added on the application (just remember, there is a visa fee cost that must be paid for each person you are bringing over.

Average wait time for the NOA2 is 3-4 months, but it can be longer. In the meantime, please create your timeline and keep it updated with the respective dates of your case. It helps with keeping the estimated timeline as accurate as possible (hehe). I would also recommended reviewing the previous month's forums so you can get an understanding on where each month stands and also you'll get a lot of information as many of the VJ members are actually going through step by step process. Review your country's portal for Embassy information, but most of all.....FIND PATIENCE!!!! Because if nothing else, you definitely need it in order to go through this process!

Congrats again and good luck to each of you on your journey!!!! :D

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

This is all very helpful. Thank you! My concern is not the NOA1 though. My concern is that they recieved my package 2 weeks ago and my check has not cleared yet. I sent them the G1145 so that they would email me as soon as they opened my package, but after 2 weeks I haven't heard anything. I saw a guy that sent his documents after mine and his check has already cleared. That is my concern. Is it bad to call them?
