ANOTHER AP??????

That is absurd. Have they no mercy?

In sha Allah it won't be denied.

Thanks for all the concern from everyone. My husband sent in 13 pound box to the embassy with our proof - cost him something liek $20 american dollars to send it. It contained everthing from our life thus far (emails, photos, wedding reception cd, cards that we've sent to each other, phone bills, etc.). When he brought it to the DHL office, he said he's never seen anyone send in so much proof. Let the embassy drown in the paperwork - hahaha.

I called the Embassy yesterday morning and they told me that usually when they get 3 documents asking for more items that they require a second. interview. I asked if we could get it scheduled soon. Was told that the interview schedule for May is already filled up and they are on the middle of June scheduling and he'd be put on at this time. Was also told that he will need to go through Administrative Processing again as well to make sure nothing has changed. You know I was really upset for a while and now I'm just numb. Deep down I think we both realize that it's going to be denied. At least that's what we are thinking to keep from getting overly excited again. We heard others were getting their visa's and we were hoping we were a part of that group. I don't understand why we are different from others. We've committed no crimes except loving each other.

I'll keep eveyone updated on what's happening. It totally depends on what the officer thinks when he opens that box of goodies. I swear I asked my husband to add some cookies to the box to see if that would put the consulars office in a better mood, but he refused.

I have never heard of the Cairo embassy denying due to lack of proof before. Has this ever happened to anyone going through Cairo?

I'm getting scared now too!!! I'm going to send Usama a printout of my phonebill with our calls and texts hilighted, printouts of all of our skype and yahoo sessions, but aside from that and our marriage pics and our certificate I have nothing else to use as proof.

If they refuse to look at this stuff at the interview I'm going to tell him to insist that they not only look at it all but that they keep it in our files so that there is no excuse for sending a request for what they will already have possession of.

I wonder if this is all related to that new law stating that Americans can no longer marry Egyptians. Seems like they're gonna start coming down very hard on us from here on out. :(

Did you include primary evidence of meeting in persons? Copies of passport stamps? Flight Itineraries? Hotel Receipts? things like that?

Just a thought ..

CB

Oh good idea. I mean I'd think it would be obvious since we couldn't get married if I hadn't flown there and stayed somewhere but I guess just load them up with evidence and you can't go wrong...hopefully!

Hi Everyone - thanks for the concern. Just want to answer a few questions. When my husband went to the embassy for his interview, he had brought an entire suitcase of evidence (yes, I do mean an entire suitcase). In it he had emails that we've exchanged since we first met (2003), our online conversations, all our phone records (we talk twice a day and we have lots of papers showing his number that I had dialed and the length of time that we have talked on what day), letters and cards that we've sent each other, things that my son has sent him, my plane tickets receipts showing each time I was there, some accounts that our names are on jointly, western union recepts showing when I had sent him money, photographs of us together, our video of the reception that we had after the marriage, video of us on our honeymoon in El Arish, and a copy of my passport which also shows of the times that I had flown there. I'm not sure how much more we could have possibly included in that information to prove that we are a couple.

Just to give you an update - I called the embassy last week and they said that his second interview is scheduled towards the middle of June. She couldn't give me the exact date, but she said it would be after the 18th. As usual, he will be notified prior to the interview via a document that will be delivered to him via DHL. She also said that some time has passed since the last time that his papers have been sent to the DOS and that they will be going again to make sure nothing has changed since then. You know - this is really hard to accept this, but at least now we can anticipate a timeframe. It's better than not knowing what to expect. So the way that I look at it - interview in June, DOS should receive in July and keep for 2 months like before, so I'm guessing that we might hear something by October. I know I'm crossing my fingers.

I'll keep everyone posted if I'm ever told something else.

05.02.2008 - Sent AOS & EAD package to Chicago.

05.04.2008 - Package recieved in Chicago.

05.09.2008 – Received NOA's.

06.04.2008 - Biometrics appt.

07.25.08 - Work Permission Received in Mail

07.28.08 - Applied for Social Security Number

08.04.08 - Received Social Security Number in Mail

This is so very strange. Do you have any idea what the consulate could possibly be concerned about at this point ? If so, concentrate on how to address those concerns with specific evidence.

Thoughts and prayers with you -- insha'allah the 2nd interview will answer any questions they still have so they can issue the visa as soon as possible. Hang in there -- we're all cheering for you.

OMG after ALL THAT EVIDENCE they STILL didn't believe him???? That's sooo scary. That sounds more like Casa than Cairo!!! Did they look at any of the stuff the first time or was it a case where he brought it all in and they said, "that's ok we don't need to see that"???

I really hope this gets cleared up soon after the interview and that they won't make you wait too long for AP.
