Bad News - Today my husand received yet another 221(g). This time it said that it's going to be denied unless we show Proof of Relationship. At his intervew he had brought a suitcase of emails, pictures, phone records, etc. But at the interview they asked to see none of it. It also mentions a second interview and another administrative processing time. Can you believe it? I'm calling the embassy tomorrow morning to see what run around I'll get. I can't believe this. My husband took copies of everything today and will be sending it to the embassy tomorrow morning. Any wisdom out there? I'm fed up with this and I can't do this much longer.

I am sooooo sorry to hear your bad news, Cairobound((((((((HUGS))))))))) (F)

I read somewhere that if someone takes a suitcase full of evidence and they never ask to see it, then it should be insisted upon that they look through it. I think they have already made up their minds before the actual interview whether to issue a visa or not. That is just my opinion. I wish I had answers for you, but Iam not at that level yet. I hope someone can guide you in the right direction for the next step you will need to take in this insane game we have to participate in all because we love.

God be with you!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

That is so unfair to request more proof when they won't even look at the proof he has! :ranting: I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. Hopefully, you will be able to convince them to at least look over the proof that you have. Best Wishes...

we had a similar situation. 1st interview they placed him on AR and issued a 221(g) due to insufficient proof (per their statement). they even wrote on our 221(g) i was required to attend the 2nd interview. when he FLEW back to the consulate they were CLOSED. so we had to wait another 2 months for him to be able to deliver the required proofs. (i guess looking back i gambled a whole lot by not going). Unfortunately for us, AR would not be completed for another 4 or so months.

im sorry you are getting the run around, give them what they ask for now, and get your file back to processing.

I'm really sorry to hear you've hit another delay.

But there is a silver lining in that cloud -- it seems Cairo is giving you a chance to bring in the evidence (I know.... again !) before making their final decision on whether to send your case back. So make the most of that chance -- shove your mountain of proof in front of their faces one more time. Insha'allah it will be what they need, and you will soon be done with this consulate forever.

Do you have a date yet for the second interview ? Not sure if it's possible for you to travel to Egypt for that (and I don't think they will let you go inside for the actual interview) but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt for them to know you are there in person and available for any questions.

Thoughts and prayers with you, and wishing you the best of luck in getting through soon.

I can only imagine how you're feeling, but I agree with WOM, they are giving your husband the opportunity to supply additional support and this is a positive. Once the anxiety and frustration has settled, get yourselves organized to the 9's, try to remain calm, and just focus on this hurdle and I'm sure everything will be fine. The delays are hard to swallow, believe me I know, but if you don't let your emotions trip you up, you can get through this. Avoid the "what-ifs" if you can. We're all here routing for you.

Thanks for all the concern from everyone. My husband sent in 13 pound box to the embassy with our proof - cost him something liek $20 american dollars to send it. It contained everthing from our life thus far (emails, photos, wedding reception cd, cards that we've sent to each other, phone bills, etc.). When he brought it to the DHL office, he said he's never seen anyone send in so much proof. Let the embassy drown in the paperwork - hahaha.

I called the Embassy yesterday morning and they told me that usually when they get 3 documents asking for more items that they require a second. interview. I asked if we could get it scheduled soon. Was told that the interview schedule for May is already filled up and they are on the middle of June scheduling and he'd be put on at this time. Was also told that he will need to go through Administrative Processing again as well to make sure nothing has changed. You know I was really upset for a while and now I'm just numb. Deep down I think we both realize that it's going to be denied. At least that's what we are thinking to keep from getting overly excited again. We heard others were getting their visa's and we were hoping we were a part of that group. I don't understand why we are different from others. We've committed no crimes except loving each other.

I'll keep eveyone updated on what's happening. It totally depends on what the officer thinks when he opens that box of goodies. I swear I asked my husband to add some cookies to the box to see if that would put the consulars office in a better mood, but he refused.

My God! I'm so sorry this has happened to you guys. I hope the stuff your husband sent was enough for them. I don't understand why they would want another interview and AP. What the hell could change in this short amount of time? I'll keep you and your husband in my prayers.
