Hi everyone,

our NOA2 was on the 22nd June.

I am from London. So the UK embassy.

I want to make this as quick and painless as possible. I'm going to call the NVC on Monday to see if it's arrived etc.. but if it has, and I get a case number.. can I book my medical?

Im not sure what forms they need at the medical...

and.. ahhh it's blowing my mind,

do I wait to receive the letters from the embassy and NVC.. aaaand do I do my DS-160 before the medical or afterwards.

hmmmm - HELP. A step by step to make this quick would be lovely hahaa

please only comment abit the UK LONDON time frame and process as its pointless reading about the other ones for me.

Thankyou!

Have you ordered your police report? If not then do that now.

Get your vaccinations record from your GP and get any boosters you need.

Get a medical summary from your GP, if you've had any mental health issues get them to include the magic words 'no risk to themselves or others', if you are under hospital treatment for anything get your consultant to write a brief summary of condition and ongoing treatments.

Get your I-134 from your fiancé along with a letter from employer, pay stubs, tax papers (London is happy with just an employer letter)

Once you get the LND number from NVC you can track the case on CEAC, it will show 'in transit' and then 'ready' once it's arrived and scanned into the system at London.

You can complete the DS160 and notification of readiness any time you're ready.

Knightsbridge will let you have the medical without official notice from London, just take a screenshot of CEAC status showing ready.

:)

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

thankyou!!!! Super helpful.

- Yes ive ordered my police certificate, due in a week.

- vaccinations all up the UK standards had those done a couple weeks back. - got the vaccinations records.

- no medical history, don't have anything to say or tell (luckily) (touches wood) so don't need a summary.

- fiancé is overnighting me the affadivit and tax subs and employment stuff (he's military) next week.

Can i I fill out the DS160 now? Before medical and before NVC contacted me!? Just anytime? I just want to feel useful haha like I'm doing SOMETHING for it lol

You need the LND before you can do anything, if you're desperate to start it then you can part complete it, save (screenshot the DS160 number or you won't be able to get it back) and go back in and finish it when you get the LND.

Vaccinations - you need to check the list (search the posted thread in here, Nick-Nich did a fab guide) - make sure you have everything on that list, you do not want to have to pay a surgeon here for AOS....

In the meantime make plans to spend time seeing people and doing things you want to do there, make memories to take with you :)

It can take awhile sometimes. Should be soonish. USCIS hands off to the Dept of State (NVC and embassy). The Dept of State is a different agency so they give you a Dept of State case number. LNDXXXXXXXX.  LND means London will issue the visa.

Immunizations. You said "vaccinations all up the UK standards".  You have to meet US standards to immigrate there. Do you have a record of

2 MMR?

a pertussis jab which covers the "p" in Tdap so the booster can be only the Td, rather than needing Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis)

a Td (tetanus/diphtheria) shot dated within the last 10 years?

Have you ever had chickenpox?

I have all the UK standard jabs, I did have chickenpox when I was younger yes.

I am also not too worried about jabs as my fiancé is in the military and as his spouse it will be fine for me to have them there.

I have tetanus, diphtheria urmmm I'd have to look to tell you what else, but the other ones they wouldn't give me because it's not winter aaaaaand they're not necessary apparently.

Flu jab is seasonal.

chickenpox gets you out of varicella shot.

It will be fine for you to have them in the US, but then you will have to seek out a USCIS approved Civil Surgeon to put them all on an immigration form. The military doctor is likely not a US Civil Surgeon, but you can check the list on USCIS website.

Best case, maybe $50 for a civil surgeon to copy your shot list from your GP and the military doctor. Worst case, he will insist on doing your whole medical exam over again for $250+ Or he won't do the shot form.

IF everything is on the Knightsbridge form, that can be used for AOS

I would urge you not to go that route and to get them done before your medical, you can go to Boots or Tesco - any chemist and get them.

Yes you'll be able to get them when you get here but you do not want the stress and financial headache of getting an approved panel surgeon to sign off on them.

Immigration is stressful enough, you want to do all you can to make it as simple as you can.
