Joint sponsor Question about 1040

Hi,

I was copying my joint-sponsor's 1040 and W-2 today and need advice.

My J-Sponsor is Sara + she filed joint taxes with her husband. The husband is self-employed, so he needed to add the 1040-C, for profit and loss.

Since Sara didnt need the 1040-C for her part of the taxes, do I still need to include the 1040-C with the 1040?

The I-864 directions say to include 1040 and w-2.... would that mean the 1040-C for the husband as well? He is not envolved with the sponsorship.

Thanks a lot,

Mike

Mike,

Free transcripts from the IRS solve the problem. They are mailed inside of two weeks (often faster) and if you read the instructions, they preclude the need for asking about Schedules etc.

Sara can include her wage proof to separate her income from her husband's.

Thanks Yodrak!

And Thanks meauxna.....

Yea, I ordered transcripts for my taxes when I sent in my I-864 as sponsor.

But the 221g that Lorna received at her interview was an older form from 2005 and it requested an "I-864 from a co-sponsor in the USA with original notorized signitures"

And... Federal Income Tax returns for years(left blank)

And...W-2 forms from years (left blank)

So I'm giving them EXACTLY what they asked for including 3yrs federals and W-2's. I'm not taking any chances at this point, hehehe!

The documents will head for Cebu tomorrow....whew!
