Basically you would need to be approved within one year of applying for AOS. If it takes longer than this then your medical would expire.

When I checked I was told they are processing November 2016! Omg... I wonder how accurate that it.

Hi,

We have the same field office ( I think). When I called the CS they said my case is within the timeline.

 

Anybody here from New York who got their interview schedule or updates other than EAD/AP Approval?

The GC starts from my file date not my interview approval date.

Congratulations! Could it be the system is changed? It’s much better if the GC starts reading from filed date. 

You don’t have to send back your EAD. They should have collected it on your interview day, if at all they wanted it back.

If I were you I'd keep it. You never know if you might lose your GC and you have to show your legal status while you're replacing it.

Just got interview letter for March 8!

I-485 was send July 28

Biometrics August 26

 

I have us one questions about the best way to file TAXES this year.

Are you filing jointly?

I am not working so I am dependant.

Since I am getting my temporary green card in few weeks should we say that I am permanat resident?

Me and my husband are kind of lost here :/ HELP

There is an entire forum on VJ dedicated to this topic but here is a general pin on the topic of this forum.  For the first time ever I am hiring a tax account because of my husbands overseas income and my student loans complicate things but VJ tax forum really helped me understand the basics

Funny...I'm in that exact situation. Canadian here in Seattle, filed in July. Haven't heard a thing since July 19. I expect the office in Tukwila is one of the slowest in the country.

I am just getting so irritated and frustrated. I have raised total of 3 SRs, yet heard no response at all from the USCIS. I suspect my case is probably being reset to day 1 processing time from the day we responded to the RFIE (Jan 23, 2018 the response package arrived in USCIS - but the USCIS update the case status on Jan 26). Guess I have to set the worst expectation for my EAD/AP combo card to even get approved after April 26 (90 days from Jan 26). It sucks when we filed on July 18, but the RFIE didn't issue until Oct 27 which is literally 100 days from the filing date. I wish they could have approved my EAD/AP before they issue the RFIE for the i-864 regarding lack of supporting docs, that way I can still get a job while awaiting for my GC. At least I took a full semester of classes in a community college to kill some time during Fall 2017. But now that I have no classes in Spring 2018, it is just freaking bored sitting at home not being able to do much other than house chores, learn to cook some Southeast Asia food.

We got or RFE  on Sep.15th, we mailed our response next working day, and on october 3d they received a response. My ead got approved on november 15th but I missed out a USPS guy and he decided not to deliver my card and it returned as undeliverable ever since. I am waiting for them almost for 5 month to do any actions but all they keep telling me is wait 10 days, then 2 weeks, than 30 days and now i got a letter saying to not contact them about this matter before 60 days from the date of letter.

Oh wow, that is a bummer. Sorry to hear that. But at least you sort of know your EAD got approved. Though not having it really sucks as you can't really renew your driving license nor start working. Did you sign up for USPS Informed Delivery service? It is a free service where you can link your address to your email account, all incoming mails / packages will be tracked and you will be able to know what is coming your way before it even arrives, that way you can anticipate which day to sign for any particular package or mail you think is important.

Regarding the wait 10 days, 2 weeks and 30 days, are you referring to service requests that you raised? Or did you call the tier 2 USCIS officer to inquire about your EAD and they said they will get back to you within those time-frame? What the hell, 60 days from the date of letter, if your EAD is approved on Nov 15, I imagine your EAD issue date starts around Nov 18/Nov 22. If they are gonna mail you another one, they better not mail the Nov issues one and reproduce a new one by putting it in Mar/April. It wonder if your EAD got returned to the USCIS or it went missing. Did you file a report at your local USCIS office to inquire about that?

I am trying to decide if I should wait til my 3rd Service Request expire before I call to USCIS asking to speak to tier 2 officer to inquire about the progress or what is the hold-back for my EAD...

Oh wow, I do not know if it is coincidence or the Tier-1 USCIS Officer did something to inform the relevant party about my case so that action has been taken. At least it is a good news to me that it is somewhat progressing. My EAD is being produced, according to my attorney it may take a couple weeks for it to be produced, and I shall expect another update by then about the Card being Mailed out. Keeping my fingers crossed that it won't get lost with the USPS!! Finally!!
