Hi friends, I went for a job interview yesterday and just this afternoon they called and offered me the job. When I mean a job, a befitting one that I never expected to secure. I am now waiting for offer letter from the company in order to alert USCIS. For those who expedited their EAD, pls guide me on how best I can go about having it submitted for expedite and action taken fast; do I need to request for tier 2 or speak with a customer service rep. Meanwhile, I submitted an SR for out of normal processing time, which has not yet been assigned to an officer. Thank you.

I just recently called the USCIS CS for my EAD sitting for 75 days without any changes.

The rep just gave me the SR numbers and have been told they would send a request to the office. She told me to wait 15 to 30 days. Its been 15 days now. And I am hoping to hear from them anytime soon.

I did same in 80 days from NOA 1 and 85 days from filled day but I think sometimes if your case is not up to 90 days, they won’t touch it. Call again if the 30 day is up. I hope it will be approved either because it’s assigned to an officer or because of the job offer I am yet to send.

I have heard many vj members tell surprising stories about either receiving their AOS approval letters or Interview letter; I have a mail on the way Associated with return receipt, sent to me since last week. For those who had usps informed delivery, were you able to see a mail like that coming from Texas with a return receipt and when received its either AOS approval letter or interview letter?

I expedited mine.

you call to the uscis and ask to expedite it.

they will ask the reason you are requesting it and you say severe financial loss.

then they will send you a letter with a fax number so you can send them proofs that you really need it expedited.

i basically sent all the bills we have, some requests for job interviews, rent... and a cover letter explaining everything.

Then they will send you a letter saying that your case is under review and  you will get a decision shortly.

And when the decision is made your status on your case will change to my card sent to production.

takes around 15-20 days the whole thing but still faster than waiting the regular process.

What kind of bills did you send? We have paid all bills and no outstanding bill for now.

We also had all the bills paid and everything, but we did send it to show them how much of a struggle it was for us with only one person working.

we basically sent the money transfers for rent, bank statements, credit card bill, phone bill, paystub from him... basically everything envolving money.

And on the cover letter we explained what everything was, with the whole mathematical explanation to show them it was being hard.

You can also contact your congressman so he can help you to expedite, but we didn’t and it worked for us.

Good luck!

No, I’m saying what I sent.

if you search here on vjourney you will find that there was a lot of people expediting only with a job offer and asking help for the congressman.

I did it all a bit different and it also worked.

Ok. The problem is that my wife doesn’t keep receipts of paid bills. I will see what I can do by tomorrow morning. Apart from choosing financial loss and job offer when you called uscis, how did you explain further? Did you say your spouse is finding it difficult to pay the bills alone? Who spoke with uscis, you or your spouse (USC) ?

Frankly, I don't know. I submitted a SR out of curiosity without even expecting of believing that it would change anything, and haven't checked the website since then. That's why I was surprised to receive an approval notice in the mail.

Congratulations!!  This gives me a little hope that my husband will get his EAD soon. He has a second interview with a company today it would be much easier to not have to file for an expedite if he gets a job offer.

It's going to be so nice to have a dual income sometime soon hopefully!
