Out of curiosity, when interviewing for jobs did you say you were waiting for EAD approval?

Thanks

Nope, I just only applied to jobs that would have a start date around my anticipated EAD arrival time. I got lucky with an early offer, and used that to expedite the EAD.

This is awesome. @Adam&Allison I'm wondering if I should start applying for jobs and being clear up from with the interviewer about my situation. How did you do in your case? Did you let them know that you needed a letter from them so you could expedite your EAD?

Another question I have, Does the EAD and AOS are processed at our local office or only AOS is processed at a local Office and EAD is processed at a central location NBC?

Yep I just let them know I needed a letter. All I submitted was the job offer.

Important to note that I also had my Senator put in a congressional inquiry on my behalf.

I called Senator Bob Casey's office, asked them to put in a congressional inquiry - they did, I emailed my job offer over to them.

I then created an expedite myself, a few days after the expedite was created I received an email from them asking me to fax over my job offer - which I did - and then that was it, a few days later I was approved.

My husband just got an email from a job injury and the Human Resource department just wants to know what his visa status is and his progress towards EAD. So we will be sending that paperwork in to HR. I think a fair amount of Human Resource departments will know what to ask about immigration and be fairly familiar with the process.

Good to know. I just put in an inquiry last week to my local congressmen and got a response back last night. I wanted to see if they could assist because as of right now they only job offer we have is for my husband as a private contractor (which doesn't come with a formal job letter). They requested a simple letter of what kind of work he would be performing for the a company he would contract for. We also might be getting another job lead as of this morning (fingers crossed).

Has anyone of you here applied for a SSN already? Did you receive your card without any issues? I applied August 11, returned to the SSA on Aug 20 informed I didnt receive and they requested a new card and printed out my number, however still no card in mail.

When I look at SAVE (https://save.uscis.gov/casecheck/) I see the message: "save has returned your case to maryland - social security administration ssa (single sign on)"  any idea?
