Congrats to you @fishe23a

Question, does it mean the field office who process my biometrics are the one handling my AOS processing?

Yes. The location listed on your biometrics appointment is the location processing your AOS application and the same location where you will have your interview (if you have an interview scheduled, which apparently some AOS folks do and some don't). That's why our interview process has been so fast (sent packet 30th June, interview 25th September), our field office is just very fast.

Met in college, reconnected five years later. Started a life together in America. ❤️

This isn't strictly always true - my local field office is Philadelphia, but my Application Support Center was right outside of Philly. This was not a field office and only handled the biometrics. My local field office, Philadelphia, does act as an Application Support Center also however.

Just looked it up - it appears that the Milwaukee office acts as both an Application Support Center (Biometrics) and a field office.

Is the USCIS site the only location we should be using to check our status? https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do Is there any other site for status information?

The USCIS site is the only place that will accurately reflect. Bear in mind that sometimes it can take them several hours, even up to a day, to update their online systems. Meaning that your status may be out of date on the status checker. You can always call up USCIS and get the most up to date status.

That is interesting...during the K1 process forums were so active and now it seems that during the AOS/EAD/AP things are a little quieter. Not too many messages....

It's probably because now that we're over here, we're with our significant other every day - with the K-1 we were apart

So, me and my husband are going through a huge struggle because of money for the fact that he is the USC and I'm still not allowed to work yet ( status even still in "my case was received", almost after a month from the biometric appointment) so we called USCIS last friday, september 1st, to try to expedite under the severe financial loss.

On the next day, the 2nd, the case history for my EAD said that the expedite request was assigned to an officer and then it was completed.

the officer on the phone when we called asked the reasons, an e-mail address, and said if we don't receive anything in five days ( tomorrow... his words) to contact them back.

Hoping we can get it expedite because it has been really hard to live under only one income.

Happy to say my EAD expedite was successful and status has been updated to "New Card is being produced!"!!!!:D:D Hopefully it comes within the next week or two so I can start work. For those wondering the EAD expedite timeline for me:

Aug 7th - Walked in biometrics

Aug 15th - Applied to have EAD expedited through congressman

Aug 16th - Was told we would have to try again in two weeks because my AOS was still new

Aug 28th - Congressman tried again

Aug 30th - Was told "This case will be routed for expedited processing.  Your constituent will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly."

September 5th - Called USCIS today and they said my expedite was approved, and it would show up on my status later today as it did.

I have a job lined up, so I'm ready to get out of the house again!

Be encouraged fellow Journeyers!!

I would try calling your congressman as additional help if you are worried. I along with others have had success with it, even some saying it happens faster. Just a thought

Yea, I also thought about it.

i'm gonna wait until tomorrow that is the deadline they gave me for an answer.

If nothing happens I'll contact the congressman for sure.

What did they ask you to prove the emergency to expedite?

They just asked for proof of financial hardship so I sent them all types of bills, job offer letter and statements from my bank accounts showing low funds.
