We checked our USCIS case status just now and our status had been changed to "Interview Scheduled" for September 25th, 2017. We were absolutely not expecting this so soon! Has anyone else had this? Is that normal or suspicious?? (For reference, our NOA-1 was 6th July, we have not had any EAD/AP notices or status changes, and our status only changed to "Ready for Interview" on 15th August!)

OMG! Congrats! You're almost there! 😀. I wish ours together with July filers will be quick as yours 😀 My status still "Fingerprint fee was received". My NOA1 is July 12. May I know which are you from?

I think she meant which state are you from. I'm curious too, which field office is prcessing your case?

for me it was only a text message via the USCIS website - i had signed up for the text alerts. no official email from USCIS, and the text wasn't the same kind as the receipt notices for our initial I-485 application.

I don't see any timeline on your profile. May I know when did you file, got NoA1, and biometrics?

Thank you @Ehri&Mark for that suggestion - brain fuzzy in the morning! The field office processing my wife's case is in Portland, Maine. (That is, at least, the center where she did her biometrics appointment). I am just now reading through the June 2017 AOS Filers thread and it seems there are a few people - many with the field office in Yakima, WA - that had pretty expedited processes overall / 3 months from application mailed to GC in hand. I am not sure about Maine; it's not a super populated state, but the Portland area also has quite a lot of refugee immigrants, so I would have assumed the office is busy.

So, in short, people who expedited EAD gets faster process? That's what I noticed on the recent posts here. When you expedited your wife's EAD, what did you have for proof? Just letter from the job offer? Her interview is this coming September, that is quick and I believe I haven't said my congratulations. Congratulations! I'm jealous. Hahaha!

Oh - I'm sorry, perhaps should not have used that term. We have not applied for an expedited EAD / AP. What I mean is, I think that the whole process is entirely dependent on which field office you file at. For example, on the June 2017 thread it appears everyone whose application was forwarded through the Yakima, WA field office already has their green cards. However, everyone whose application was forwarded to the Houston, TX office seems to still even be waiting for their biometrics appointment. So whether or not your overall case is expedited / moved quickly through the system for GC is entirely dependent on the field office your application gets forwarded to after filing.

Got it. I guess my field office (Phoenix, AZ) is just on average processing times. Still, congratulations on you guys' super fast process!

This is a huge deal! It seems that a few local offices have a very short time from application to interview. You are one of the VERY lucky ones! Congratulations. Most of us will likely be waiting well into next year, while you will already have your GC. Don't worry about EAD/AP at this point, your interview is already scheduled. EAD/AP are processed by the MSC, not your local office, and they are running very very slow right now, around 110days. More importantly, if you are approved for your GC at your interview, those applications will be denied anyways as they are no longer necessary. EAD/AP are just stop gap measures

So far the ONLY person from July who has a scheduled interview is @fishe23a all the rest of us are waiting like. From this point on, the process is HIGHLY HIGHLY variable. You might get notified tomorrow that your interview is scheduled for next month or your might have to wait for a year or more from now with no other updates (outside of EAD/AP) until you one day get an interview scheduled notice or you might not have an interview at all (Interview Waiver takes about a year). Like I said, from this point on, all you can do is wait. If you get an interview waiver, the only way you will know about it is that about a year from now your process will suddenly change from either "interview is ready to be scheduled" or "fingerprint fee received" to approved, without any interview or warning. If you are scheduled for an interview, then it depends a lot on who is handling your file and how busy your local office is. If it is a very busy one it might be 1-1.5yrs before your turn for an interview comes up. If it is a not so busy one, like Yakima,WA or apparently Portland, ME then you might get it within the next month or so.

Congratulations from me also:) We're actually at the beginning of the process . We have almost all the forms filled out, but in a sample cover letter I found in visaharmony the

Supporting Documents for I-485 these 2:

1.       Copy of Vaccination Documentation Worksheet, Form DS-3025

2.       Sealed envelope for the Form I-693 signed by a USCIS recommended civil surgeon

Did you guys submit these 2?

I forgot to mention that I did not submit my I-693 with all of my submission packet - I had read that you can bring it along to the interview.

Last week I received a yellow form telling me I didn't submit my I-693. It said do not send it now, but to bring it to the interview when/if scheduled, and if an interview is not required that they would request by mail.

It worked out well because it gave me time to collect my vaccination records from Canada, and to set an appointment with the civil surgeon. I'm headed there tomorrow and it will be $275.

Hope this helps!

In my case since i came in under K1, i submitted my DS - 2025 together with I-693 but i only filled up the first page and signed the 2nd page. The rest that says Surgeon to fill up i put N/A.

Did you get a foreign medical exam? As I understand, K1 filers only need another exam if it's more than a year after their foreign med. exam when they file I-485!

you should be ok if you fall within that!
