Received a status update on my case this morning on the tracker that my case was scheduled for an interview. Ironically enough the new DHS website didn't update but the old tracker did.

Question, at what point you can be able to check your case status online. I have been checking mine (hard copy of NOA at hand) it has error and says check my receipt number.

We are able to check my husband's online, and have been since we received NOA1. What category are you checking under? That may be what issue?

The website has been notoriously flaky recently, there are people who had their GC in hand after an interview and a month later the website still says "Waiting for interview". It is annoying for sure, but not indicative of something wrong with your case.

11/21/2016 - NVC Receives packet

12/12/2016 - Case left NVC for BKK Consulate

01/10/2017 - After travelling via the slowest route possible (likely via carrier pigeon) BKK Consulate receives packet

01/16/2017 - Packet 3 Instructions received 02/28/2017 - Packet 3 Instructions Completed

03/05/2017 - Packet 4 received (now the fun begins) --> 03/29/2017 - Interview disappears from the schedule on the embassy website -->03/30/2017 - She goes to her interview, is told they need to verify her documents since she is Vietnamese interviewing in Thailand, receives a 221G with 'Verification of Viet documents' as the reason. Gave back her passport.-->03/31/2017-04/04/2017 - Case is being continuously touched. We suspect that our case was approved at this point but they didn't have her passport. --> 04/10/2017 (10 days after interview) - Email emabssy to inquire about updates and if there was anything we could do to move things forward. (3h later) - She is told that she is approved and to expect her passport soon (how when they don't have it in their posession?) After clarification, instructed to send our passport to them. Ship out passport in a rush to beat Songkran (which failed) --> 04/11/2017 - Passport at embassy according to Thai Post Office --> 04/17/2017 - Emailed to confirm they received the passport. They issued an evasive answer about Songkran backlog (they love evasive non-committal answers)--> 04/24/2017  Evening - Case changes from Immigrant Visa to Non-Immigrant Visa and a new case created date is given --? 04/25/2017 morning  (less than 12h later) - Case flies through Ready -->Admin Processing --> Issued

04/26/2017 - Checks mail, passport is there. No mention of it being mailed out. 

05/02/2017 - Arrives in the USA, without Issue

06/17/2017 - Marriage!

some Vjers were not able to check their status online immediately but that didn't mean something's wrong with the application. Just check again after a couple of days. In the meantime, be on the lookout for the biometrics mail as it will not reflect in the online status.

T His process will be a LOT of waiting (unless you happen to at the Yakima Service Center who are blazing through AoS cases. So just be patient and remember, paper copies trump everything. More importantly, there isn't a lot of updating that goes on the site. It just kinda sits there day in and day out until the interview i scheduled. For example, you will receive a biometrics letter in a week or two, that will never appear on the site. After that, your case might switch to ready for interview, it might stay on fingerprint fee received. Both are the same thing, just waiting for interview for months on end until it is scheduled. Even EAD and AP don't really update until the end.

Hi guys, I received my biometrics letter with the appointment for August 16th last week. I knew I was gonna be travelling so I ticked the option to reschedule and I sent it right away, the same day I received it. I haven't heard anything yet and I'm worried because I don't want them to think I abandoned the case as I won't show up for the appointment.

Question: I am the wife and the sponsor to my husband receiving AOS, from a K1. I am holding off changing my name because the past paper work was filed under my maiden name including the finical support documents. I am nervous changing my name midway in the AOS might cause an issue.

 

Does anyone have any experience or  advice?

Today I received my RFE notification on my App. They said they mailed it on the 9th and I had changed my address online on the 10th... So does that mean it was actually mailed then and it would be at my old address or at my new? Feeling a little discouraged but still going. I hope it's nothing major that they need.

Ah! Our status changed to "Ready for Interview" today and we had hoped that meant my wife's interview would be scheduled sooner than later. Do most folks with this status update still wait for months for the interview to even be scheduled?

 

Edited to add: Our NOA-1 for AOS was July 5th, biometrics August 3rd.

Well I am not sure - that's why I asked the above question! Someone wrote that the case tracker may update to "Ready for Interview" but that you still wait months for them to schedule it. Just checking if that was true.

It sounds like people do end up waiting sometimes but its still exciting that something is happening with your case. Fingers crossed it continues to go smoothly :)

Update! i got my EAD expedite approval on Saturday August 12! 13 days after filing for it the day of my biometrics. I contacted a local congressman so maybe that helped but honestly things have been smooth for us so far (knock on wood!) I also got an update yesterday that my I-485 is ready to be scheduled for an interview (we filed July 5, biometrics July 31.) 

 

Excited to receive my card and start work!
