Hi All! Anyone else from July Still having issues tracking your case online? Anyone from early July that WAS having issues and now is able to see their case online? At what point in the process did the tracker work? I am trying to determine if USCIS just has a backlog of cases to input into the tracker or if they have given up entering them all together. Thanks for sharing any insight!

We are:

AOS package (from K1) received in Chicago: 7/18

Biometrics question:

My wife's 'given name' on her visa and i94 is her middle name then her first name. (In Vietnam the US Consulate lists the first name as middle name then first name together.)

The person at the social security office told us she needed her marriage certificate to match the visa and i94, so we had her name in the wrong order to match the visa/i94.

But when we filled out the AoS forms we listed her name as it is on her birth certificate but changed her last name to match mine.

We got her biometric letter for the appointment and the name was listed as we listed it on her birth certificate (the correct order) and my last name.

Will there be a problem that her Visa/passport and i94 'given name (incorrect first name order)' wont match the name (correct name order) on the biometric appointment letter?

Hi,

We got the USPS receipt but haven't got text, email or NOA1 in 10 days (check not cashed).  Does anyone know the number to call at the Chicago lock box? Thanks.

Called again to check on my package after not hearing anything for 15 days and the guy said even though I didn't get a text or e-mail that my package had been received/accepted. He gave me two receipt numbers, for my EAD and AP. Those who got texts and e-mails, how many receipts did you get? Shouldn't I get one for AOS also? I checked my bank and they finally took out the money today.

I just Googled USCIS Contact - 1 (800) 375-5283 and was able to get a hold of someone. They had a wait and called me back after 30mins.

We just finished my wife's biometeric appointment at the Seattle branch. DAMN they are fast! We came at lunch time, even though her appt was at 3pm. We waited MAYBE 90 seconds before they called her back. All in all it took her maybe 5-10 minutes from when we arrived to when we left. Do know that parking is $7 and cash only.

@Nowrya My wife is from Vietnam and they didn't blink an eye at her name in her passport being "reversed". Her i94 is also like you mentioned, in case you are wondering.

Yeah it was in Maryland. He had to wait for 2.5 hours until they had an opening to see him. There are a lot of immigrants in this area so I am assuming they might be more strict for that reason with the walks in. It definitely wasn't an in and out experience that some people describe but he was able to get it done :)

Bad news, they rejected me at Naperville :(

They told me to try Seattle. They were really mean, the place was empty and it would've taken 5 minutes to take my biometrics.

Really disappointed since i asked ny mother in law to drive 2 hours there :(

Was a stressful journey full of ups and downs, cya in 2020 VJ. I'll be back when it's time to begin the dreaded I-751. Biggest advice - make sure you have a TON of evidence, be completely honest and you'll be fine. Good luck everyone! =)

The Seattle office was very quick and friendly. I can't say for sure that they will take you, but they were certainly fast and answered any of the brief questions we had. I have heard all of the offices are VERY hit or miss, much like the consulates and embassies for K1. Each one has its own rules and procedures on top of the national ones.

That would be what I would do, we actually did it during lunch, for that exact reason. I didn't want to take any time off, which if I had left work at 2 (to get my wife there by three) it would have been a large chunk of the day. I read online, that most people were seen pretty quickly if the place wasn't crowded, so we decided to try it. By rolling it into lunch, I ended up spending only  30 min longer on lunch than normal; I can easily add that to the end of my day. I was actually surprised at how fast they went. The called my wife right as the girl next to me sat down. She didn't even get her bag to the floor when they called her number as well.

Oh man! Sorry to hear that. My husband said they weren't too friendly to him when he dropped in. But they let me do the biometrics after waiting almost 3 hours.

He is actually attempting to get his license now. He went did the classes yesterday and took the written today. Tomorrow he goes in for the driving test so we are hoping they give him a license after he takes it. Fingers crossed, we aren't really sure what to expect because everyone has such different experiences.

Updated timeline. I recently moved states, so all my mail is being forwarded to my new place. I was worried NOAs would take forever but they are coming in sooner than expected. USPS apparently DOES re-route some mail from USCIS, it just depends on the level of confidentiality they said.

July 12th - Packet signed for at Chicago Lockbox

So I searched this forums and everyone has such different experiences and advice but just wanted to give everyone our experience of applying for a Maryland license with I-94 without a EAD or GC.

My husband and I just figured we should give it a try and see what happens. He did the online drug and alcohol course, written test, and then took the road test today. He was just granted a license for 10 months with just his NOA1 and an unexpired I-94 form for his K1.

It seems everyone has such different experiences I know people in Maryland said they had been denied in the past but it worked for us. Just wanted to pass this along.

Hi Natreezy,

How did you go about changing or rerouting your mails to your new address? Did you chaange your address with both USCIS and USPS or you changed it with usps only?
