Biometrics letter: 07/27

Biometrics appointment: 08/07

Just got back from vacation - biometrics appointment letter is here, was sent out on the 22nd July for the 11th August appointment. I have an infopass for Wednesday to hopefully get them done earlier, as I'm away again from the 6th August.

Hello. The Beneficiary received Two I-797C, Notice of Action: Rejection Notice for I-485 and I-765 Employment Authorization. Received on 7/19/2017 and notice date 7/25/2017.

I-130 Approved as of May 19th, 2014.

Priority Date: June 9th, 2011.

Assuming the rejection notice was based on Visa Bulletin of July 2017.

The notice says 'Based on the information you provided, a visa is not immediately available for your priority date.

Unless otherwise indicated on he USCIS website, individuals seeking to file applications for AoS with USCIS must use the 'Application Final Action Dates'.

Beneficiary is in the F1 Category. Final Action Date shows 22DEC10 for July 2017 VB.

Dates for Filing Applications shows 22JUL11.

The entire package with any supporting documents and fees is being returned.

I thought the Filing app dates were enough to file AoS? I found out that the Beneficiary must use Final Action Dates unless mentioned on the website.

One estimator shows December 2017 and the other March 2018 for the Final Action Dates to be current based on August VB 2017.

Any chance Filing Dates will be used any soon?

Got my biometrics appointment for August 11th, but I'm going to be on vacation then. They also scheduled me at a USCIS location 2.5 hours away, when there is one just an hour away.

I'm going to try a walk-in to the USCIS center an hour away, before I leave for my vacation and hope they let me do it!

Good luck! Luckily our appointment is only 20 minutes away. I guess that is a plus of living in a city. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Successfully did biometrics. Appointment was for the 11th August, walked in today at the Philadelphia location. In and out in about 20 minutes.

Congrats to everyone's biometrics appointment notice! @Adam&Allison That's great. Maybe @venom123 can walk-in as well.

I'm sure they'll be fine. Early walk ins are common apparently.

@venom123 if you can't do an early walk in the person at the ASC said you can go to any ASC in any state at your appointment time and they'll do them for you then. Obviously not convenient on vacation but not the end of the world.

That's what I was told at the Application Support Center. Whether you act on that or not is up to you. Maybe you could call the USCIS customer service center and request to speak to a Tier 2 Immigration Officer and they can clarify it.

I did that and the tier 2 immigration officer went on a huge rant saying how I'm not allowed to go to any other service center, I can only go to the one im scheduled. She also said walk-ins are not allowed.

She was a really mean tier 2 officer.

The amount of contradictory information is crazy. I called a Tier 2 officer twice and they both said early walk ins or going to other service centers are allowed.

Yeah its a joke. She went on a huge rant and said how I can get in trouble and that I can only go to the service center that has jurisdiction over me.

She was a play by the rules type of officer

Well I can say from experience that I had no issues doing an early walk in this morning. It was totally fine and the two security guards were laughing and joking with me about it, saying they get early walk ins all the time.
