Got a letter coming in the mail today! I hope it's my biometrics appointment. 😍

@mrmrsVang yours should be coming today too! Yours might be today or tomorrow or monday @seattlejord if my counting is right. 😊

Looks like @Ehri&Mark knows their stuff! I got my letter for biometrics appointment today for Aug 11.

Also, some people have suggested that if I would have (or still could) filed an I-765, I'd be able to work potentially in as few as 3 months before my green card is approved in 9-10 months? It's unclear if there would be a fee if I include my receipts I-485 and I-130 though.

Anyone have any advice on this? Thanks!

Here's my updated timeline:

7/10 - Mailed Out (I-485, I-130, I-864)

7/11 - Received by USCIS Chicago Lockbox/Priority Date

7/18 - Two Texts/Emails Received

7/22 - Two NOA1s Received in the mail -- One receipt was for " I-485 fingerprint fee received" and the other was "I-130 received"

7/28 - Received biometrics appointment in the mail for 8/11 at 2pm

I'm glad you also got your biometrics notice today! 😊 Yes, I think you can still file for your I-765, just print a copy of your receipt notice of your I-485 and send that back with I-765 application. Although you might wanna include another set of 2x2 photos and a copy of your identification. So when you file it here's what you need: copy of receipt for I-485, I-765 filled out completedly, 2x2 photos, and identification. Someone correct me if I am wrong and if I forgot something else. Good luck! 😊

EDIT: I didn't really answer your concern about working before green card. Yes, you can work once they approved your EAD while still waiting for GC.

I filed those as well. you?

Oh alright. I was just wondering because I don't think I saw it in your timeline. Yes, I filed I-765 and I-131 as well. We should get our EAD and AP at around the same time in October too!

Woot woot, received our biometrics appointment letter today. No emails/texts or update on the USCIS website. Hubby is so excited, he's tired of being home and not working so he's looking forward to getting his EAD....I am too, it's very expensive supporting 2 people on 1 income.

Congratulations for the biometrics notice! I agree on that.

Hey guys, this might sound absurd but what are the clothing requirements when doing biometrics? If there isn't any, can I just wear shorts and colarless shirt? It's super hot where my biometrics will be and I don't want to go all dressed up and sweat when I have an option not to.

Got my biometrics appointment for August 11th, but I'm going to be on vacation then. They also scheduled me at a USCIS location 2.5 hours away, when there is one just an hour away.

I'm going to try a walk-in to the USCIS center an hour away, before I leave for my vacation and hope they let me do it!

Hey, my biometrics appointment is for the 11th, but I'm going to be in Seattle during that time on vacation! Noticed you're also from Seattle haha. My actual appointment is in Illinois.

I might try a walk-in at the Seattle center when I arrive in Seattle on the 6th. I hope they let me do it
