Hi Guys,

Since mid May I was told by USCIS that my case is done with the background check and everything and is ready to be scheduled for interview by the local office (I filed my case 07/31/2017). My online status hasn't been changed though. I went to my local office in LA, and they said that my case is still on the way.  Do you guys know how long it takes for a case to be transferred to the local office? Thanks

Our case status changed to 'ready to be scheduled for an interview' in September and we got our interview scheduled on May 17th. So what's that, 8 months?

Thanks Adam, I just noticed that your interview is also scheduled almost a year after you applied for the change of status (which is normal based on the dates I see here). Congrats! My case has already passed its 11th month. I hope I am not supposed to wait for 8 more months!!!

it really is dependent on where your local office is, my wife and I breezed through the process at the Columbus Ohio office (four months start to finish), she has been in possession of her GC since October, her local friends have similar timelines. It would be nice if they could offset some of the delays to make it more equitable in over-crowded locations

Any news from filers in San Francisco area? Also, if have been waiting for over 1 year, are you redoing your medical exam?

Same here! My partner was advised not to redo it until they tell him to during the interview? He did this in the Philippines for his k1 and I read it is not needed. But again I could be wrong.

Today I was at work and I received a NO CALLER ID phone call.

when I answered the guy who was calling said “ IS THIS GABRIEL, SORRY IS HARD TO PRONOUNCE YOUR LAST NAME, - tried to say my last name correctly- I AM - dont remember his name now- FROM YOUR LOCAL OFFICE HERE IN NY HOW ARE YOU? I am just calling you to check if you are aware that your interview will be august 1st 1pm and also to tell you that your medical exam has expired so I need a new one to be able to approve your case when you come to the interview...

I told him i was aware of that and i am working on getting a new one this week and he was like: PERFECT, I LOVE TO HEAR THAT PEOPLE ARE ONE STEP AHEAD OF THINGS AND DONT THINK THAT WHEN I CALL THE CALL IS A SCAN, AMAZING GABRIEL... ALL GOOD WITH YOUR CASE AND I SEE YOU ON AUGUST 1st THEN! HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I was in shock, really!

First for receiving the call, second because he was genuinely friendly!

My fiance arrived in the US on July 3, we married July 6, and filed for AOS, EAD, and AP on July 10.  (She filed for her SSN on July 5 without any problems).  Package was delivered Thursday, so now the waiting begins again!  I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of Summer 2017 filers and Spring 2018 NOA2 people posting good news. - Jason

Just realized this is the July 2017 forum, not 2018.  Good luck to everyone.  I will find the correct forum now! - Jason :D
