Today I saw that uscis is sending something from Corbin facility, KY. I still have my interview at June 14th so I have no idea what is it. I know maybe someone was mentioning it somewhere above, but I couldn't find itScreenshot_20180606-153018.thumb.png.5104d935c14c106034a180e57c00cb1f.png

Thanks for the update on the interview and congratulations on the approval. What came in the mail?

EAD for one of tenants in my house. He does not live here anymore so i completely forgot he was waiting for his stuff. False alarm!

About my interview... It was super easy. My husband is on active duty orders. So lady took his orders from me, put on files. She verified my information, names of my parents, husband and then Asked me all those questions from pages at i485 application that take 3-4 sheets about any crimes or felonies involvement and after that she said that I will receive my GC in about a week. The whole thing took about 5 minutes. I am so glad it's over for now...

Dont worry about anything! haha. I honestly was expecting a grumpy officer that would slam table and be very pushy on me... But no. I know that every case is different. Before me there was a couple that was interviewed for 40 minutes. Before them, there were couples that were there for 10-15 minutes. it also depend on a person that will review your case as well i guess

I don't think you do need another medical - the USCIS guidelines say that the medical is valid for one year after the filing of AOS (https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-issues-new-policy-form-i-693-report-medical-examination-and-vaccination-record

I see. The thing is, I did not have any medical for my AOS. The medical report I submitted for my AOS was the one I used for my K1 visa. So technically, the medical report itself is more than a year already. Would you know if the interview letter will indicate a new medical report to be done if required? I just don't want to go to the interview prepared, only to find out during the interview itself, that the decision will be delayed because I need to do another medical. :/

Mine didn't - it said I needed to submit an I-693, then in brackets it said (unless already submitted) - I do believe there are specific rules for K-1's, I came in on a K-1 also. This thread covers it;

It's a pinned thread. Specifically this part;

Do I need a medical exam?

What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

Source: I-693 instructions page 6 &7, Part 3 FAQ, #3

If you were admitted as a:

A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or

B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you file your Form I-485 within one year of an overseas medical examination, and:

(a) The panel physician did not find a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or

So I think we're good to go. Because I'm in the same boat as you. My medical was done in December 2016, and my interview is next week.

If you are a K1 filer...

Your Medical from your K1 is valid for a year to apply for AOS then once you apply the year starts over from your NOA1 date.

If it takes more than a year from your AOS application date to your interview than sadly you will need a new medical. This happened to a couple  of people at my local office.

It is suggested to wait and see when your interview date is. If it is greater than a year after your initial NOA1 then you would want to get a new medical and bring it to the interview.

The only thing that is not stated above for K1 application is that if your NOA1 to interview takes longer than a year then your medical will sadly expire.

At the Baltimore office, two people showed up to the interview and were told they will need to submit a new medical since it was greater than a year from Submission of AOS to Interview, but they were approved once they submitted the new medical. It just added a little delay (a couple of weeks)...... One couple's medical was expired by a day.

EDIT: I just saw a earlier post were you stated this. :)

Yeah - luckily our interview was scheduled for like two weeks before our NOA1 date 1 year anniversary! We got our NOA1 on 10th July and our interview is for 26th June!
