Today I saw that uscis is sending something from Corbin facility, KY. I still have my interview at June 14th so I have no idea what is it. I know maybe someone was mentioning it somewhere above, but I couldn't find itScreenshot_20180606-153018.thumb.png.5104d935c14c106034a180e57c00cb1f.png

I just received NOAs for my renewal applications in the today mail. To my huge unpleasant surprise, an automatic extension only applies to employment authorization but NOT to advance parole. It is overtly said in the NOA letter: "If your EAD is a combo card, the automatic extension does not apply to advance parole." I am disappointed because I had a trip scheduled for late October and it is clear now that I won't be able to make it. My current EAD/AP expires at the end of September and the processing time for renewal applications is over 6 months.

That sucks! I have a planned vacation in December. 😐 and mine expires at the end of Nov. Ugh. I am disappointed. Thanks for the info.

P.S. one thing I can only hope for is an interview soon and a GC right after.

My I-485 Status has finally changed to INTERVIEW WAS SCHEDULED! I'm nervous. Any pointers? Things to remember and things to do during interview? What questions are normally being asked? Geez. I just hate interviews in any means. 😂

hi guys! my I-485 is still pending and I am renewing my AP. Not sure how to answer the question below. I was issued an EAD/AP combo card but I was not able to use it for travel outside the US. Should I answer "YES" for re-entry (Part 3, 4.a). If I do answer "YES" there, what should by my answer in Part 5 when I am not a permanent resident and I have not gone of the US? And what do I answer to the question "CLass of admission"?

Thank you for your help.

Just curious, how many days until your EAD/AP expires? Don't worry, you are not the only one with i-485 still pending. I am as well, to top it off, we're getting close to 1 year next month from filing date and we have just relocated and filed change of address online yesterday. Apparently there's some major phone system changes with USCIS and I think the Tier 1 officers now can access some basic information via another database. They are able to check and compare what is the latest address they have on file, I was informed that it'll take 15-30 days for the new address to be reflected into their system, so I should call back within 15-30 days to verify if the new address has been updated. Not sure how long this will further delay our case but even if we stayed in Yuma, AZ (local office fr interview is in PHX) aren't going to help much since we didn't really receive any notice about interview. My EAD was issued late due to the response of RFE took quite some time, like 3rd week of March this year. So it'll only expire in Mar 2019, I guess if 180 days filing in advance is allowed, then I'll probably file for EAD renewal in September. We just secured an apartment for a year lease in Philly, next step would be job-hunt as of starting from this week. Hopefully they won't send that interview notice within this 15/30 days to my old address, lol. That would totally be a bummer.

K1 is right, even tho it is expired. Hopefully you hear something soon regarding the i-485 interview notice. Oh, another tips for July 2017 filers, be prepared to be asked for new medical exam if your interview date is past 1 year from your filing date. They will probably inform you regarding this during the interview, then issue RFE for new medical exam, once it is done and sent in they will proceed with approval of the GC. So don't be panic about them not approving during the interview.

Oh man, this wait is tough :( Hopefully the address change doesn't change much in your process for the interview.

Regarding the medical, I was wondering about that too. Mine was done a bit after I sent in the papers (I didn't send mine with my papers because of fear of not receiving my interview within one year. Which, ironically, is what it might happen haha), on July 24th. If, for some miraculous act of god I get this interview before that date, should I still make another medical just in case?

I would wait for your interview date to schedule another medical, if needed. I was talking to a friend that recently applied for AOS through marriage but was living here for work prior to marriage. We recommended they wait for the interview date to come in the mail first (they send them out 30 days prior to the interview), this way you can make sure the medical doesn't expire prior to the interview date.

We were K1 filers but we were reading about a few people at our local office that used this approach and these recommendations because interviews can take a while to be scheduled and you dont want your medical to expire.

Had interview today. Was super quick. Officer asked me questions in my application about crimes and that's it. I had a lot of paper with me. Documents, proof... Nothing was asked. I was done in less than 5 minutes and then she gave me my sheet I will have to submit with i751 applicaton in two years, and few hours later I received notification "your new card is being produced". It is the hardest and the easiest thing I've ever done in my life. Haha 😂 good luck everyone!  I really hope everyone will hear updates soon!

We have our interview a week on Tuesday, 26th June, and I'm working myself up somewhat - this is reassuring to hear. Congrats!
