Expediting From Field Office

Hi everyone,

I have a question. A few days ago I went to my local field office to see about making an expedite request for my I129f. I know that only the California Service Center processes petitions, but I thought it was an option to submit an expedite request at the local field office? As it turns out, the officer there seemed rather clueless and was adamant that they had nothing to do with expedite requests, and that my only course of action was to use the hotline. Is this correct, or were they misinformed? It was pretty disappointing to have typed a cover letter, gathered supporting documentation, and mentally prepare for the appointment, only to be immediately told that I had gone to the wrong place. Was it my mistake or his?

The field office is only involved and has jurisdiction over your case if the case is at the field office, and i-129f petitions rarely end up at a field office. So yes, he was right.

I'm sure I've read before on this site of others saying it's best to go to a field office for an I129f expedite request rather than using the hotline. Confusing...
