In N-400 form in Part9. Time Outside the United States section:

After arrival in US that is in 2015, I never left US. That means from last three years I am in US. Before my immigration 2015 I was in my country.

My question is since I was in my home country since 2013 to 2015 before immigration. Can you please verify, below are my answers?

1.       How many total days (24 hours or longer) did you spend outside the United States during the last 5 years?

Answer: 730 Days

2.       How many trips of 24 hours or longer have you taken outside the United States during the last 5 years?

Answer: One

3.       List below all the trips …..

Answer: What will be the answer?

Hi,

You need to provide only three years of information and not five years.

Quick question: Only if you feel comfortable answering. I see few people part of this July forum but they have already applied or in process of applying for N-400 this month. Assuming everyone submitted their I-751 90 days before residency card expired then it means everyone has a residency card expired in Oct 2017. In that case, shouldn't you or everyone else be applying for N-400 in July because that's when you have 90 days left in your 3 year anniversary?

Thanks,

MB2017

My GC expired August 2017 but I was out of the country for a month when my 90-day window opened and didn’t want to risk not being there for the biometrics notice (and had nobody to check the mailbox for me), so I filed in July instead of May. I would guess others who have filed their N-400 already were in similar positions...not everyone files ROC on day 1 of their 90-day window. Hope that helps!

For those who recently  went and obtained an i551 infopass stamp, what  documents did you take?  Obviously conditional green card, i797 extension letter, passport and  maybe driver license but anything else?  I got a renewed Canadian passport and  I should not have to take in my expired passport that has the (expired) i94 visa ,correct?  My extension is up end of Sept and I need another extension as I have a trip scheduled after Sept.

As someone else asked, anyone got the new extension letter that the USCIS site mentioned yet?

Wish CSC was moving fast like VSC. Congrats to those who got their 10yr GC!

While I am still waiting til my window of opportunity opens (ie within that 3 month window of ext. letter expiring)...I can't tell you exactly what I brought...but I can tell you it seems that some offices are keeping the expired GC, others are not.  So, I'd be sure you scan the front and back of your expired GC before you attend just in case they keep it.

You do not need to bring your expired passport.  It is no longer valid and your GC (expired) replaces that expired I94 visa.

I'm sitting on eggshells too...I have a trip planned and need that stamp or that new ext. letter asap.  Next week I'm booking my infopass appt as its pretty easy to get an appt here in Reno.  I'll let you know how it goes.  I have been grilled the last 2 out of 3 times returning to the US from Canada.

Think all of us from CSC are practicing patience.

And, congrats to all those at VSC!!!  :)

If you’re filing based on marriage after 3 years, only include details for the last 3 years. So in your case, you spent 0 days outside the U.S. I don’t understand why by this point they don’t put a notation on the application saying “if you’re applying on the basis that you’ve been married to a US citizen for 3 years, only include the past 3 years of information.”

If you’re paper filing, you could do what a lot of others in the same situation have done and cross out the “5” in the question and write “3” instead. Others have opted to just leave it because the application asks which category you’re applying under so USCIS sees that it’s the last 3 years based on marriage and only takes the last 3 years into account.

Thanks. As you mentioned, they must have to specify for 3 years or 5 years category. Its a unnecessary confusion. Thanks again for details answer.

Thanks for the answer.

For your question:

For applying N-400 as you mentioned for July 2017, We all are eligible in July 2018  90 days left in your 3 year anniversary. Before 90 days they will not accept the application.

Everyone have a different opinion for applying N-400, Some apply 90 days before and some are waiting for the 10 year card and than apply. I can say it is a confusion as in some forum people are saying while I-751 is pending If you apply N-400, It will slow down your I-751 as they club both I-751 and N-400 together. But Some saying It will not affect  I-751 since your ultimate goal is citizenship so you are saving your time. Yet I am not decided I will wait for I-751 or will apply N-400. But I want to complete my N-400 so that at the last moment there is no headache to complete.

I would say if you are a VSC filer, it could potentially slow your case down as they do most of the time, put the cases together. But for CSC filers having to wait 18 - 20 months for I-751 decision...... an N-400 application can only speed up your process. In my opinion though... every case is different.

We are in the same boat as many: awaiting adjudication on our I-751 lifting conditions and coming up on the expiration of the 1 year extension of the conditional green card...also the expiration of my husband's driver's license on the same day (July 10th, and there is no grace period to renew in Georgia). There are no infopass appointments in Atlanta. Period. I have looked around the clock a hundred times a day, set up Super Auto Refresh and Visualping, started refreshing the web page every 10 seconds manually at 6:59am...So I drove to the USCIS field office at about 10:30am and tried to make an infopass appt on their lobby kiosk; same result. I was allowed through security and the help window has a hurricane shutter closed over it with a sign that says, "if you have an infopass appointment please be seated, if you do not have an infopass appointment we are not taking any more appointments today." At 10:30am. The security guard told me they have been extremely backed up for weeks and they are opening at 6:15am for walk ins and people have been getting in line as early as 2am...So we will be camping out with lawn chairs in line at 1am like we are hoping to get concert tickets. But all we need is a passport stamp that extends our extension.

I am in Atlanta too and same problem with my driver’s license. If you could please keep me updated of how things work out I’d appreciate it very much. I have no idea what to do or how to get help. Those people on the phone are just useless. It’s so frustrating and stressful.

Here in West Virginia her state issued ID card expired on 10/24/2017 and  West Virginia law says that they will only issue an ID card / Drivers license  up to the expiration date on the Green Card.  My wife has been using her US Military ID card to cash her pay check each week.

Her Grandmother in the Philippines unexpectedly passed away 3 days before her 97th birthday and my wife insists on going home.  I booked her a flight on Philippine Airlines from New York to Vancouver British Columba to Manila and on ward,  Now for a Philippine citizen to travel threw Canada you had to file for a transient Visa.  I had to enter all of her passport information as well as her US Green card information.  They asked for the expiration date of the green card and I put in the one on the extension letter and she was approved to travel threw Canada so at least I know she is updated in the US system as they are linked to there Canadaian counter parts.

My only worry is that she might get a letter for an interview while she is in the Philippines for 30 days.

I think you can do info pass in other cities? Maybe it's worth checking a nearby city if Atlanta is so backed up? I need to get the stamp too. I lucked out and when I renewed my driver's license, they renewed it to the end of next year (I don't think they were supposed to do that, but they didn't know). Considering getting the stamp should be pretty straight forward, it would be nice if they could just have a walk-in window for it. I'd imagine it takes < 5 minutes to complete. Think of how many people they could get out of their appointment system and phone system!

EDIT: I decided while I was on here to take a peek at availability. Check out what it says for the Duluth Office! I have never seen that before. I may be making a road trip

Can someone explain this ?

Wife filed I-751 in July 2017.  Her EAC is 17297 which indicates late July 2017.  This is understandable.

However, when she got BIO appointment this triggered the CRI89 number which is EAC 17213.  This refers to April 2, 2017 which is a meaningless date.

How can CRI number be earlier than I-751 number . . . and refer to a date on which nothing happened.

I noticed that others showed a similar pattern of numbers . . . but no one (that I am aware of) ever raised the issue of this illogical dating of CRI89.

you assumed cri-89 number is calculated the same way as i-751 does,   it is from completely different methods.  if you search all cases around your wife's cri89 number,  you will realize that they include almost all kind of cases, not just i-751
