Interesting how the time to process varies significantly from person to person, and how this has long term carry over effect.

For instance, 267 days for wife to receive the 2 year green card whereas some others got theirs in less than half that time.

Some would say . . . no sweat because we are all covered by the combo work and travel card during the wait . . . so no big deal.

However, those who got 2 year green card much earlier, are now  filing for ROC much earlier and they can also file for Citizenship much earlier and have much less stress time left at the end of the process.

So the differences in initial processing times really are big deals, as they carry over to the end of the entire process.

Just a rant !!

Do they really do interviews for roc? We got waived for aos. Only interview I did was for the k1

The same - the only interview i had was or the K1

As theanswerisdance said, mostly it's a random and only a little percentage of I-751 filers get  interview.

I meant if  USCIS is ready to interview an individual for naturalization, but that person's I-751 is still pending,  then technically, it's ONE interview,  for N-400, where TWO decisions will be made because I-751 must be done before N-400 anyway ... I think :)

So from my understanding I ll be able to apply for citizenship when I have the green card in total of 3 years (uscis site says 3years).

But this article https://www.ilw.com/articles/2002,0214-Mehta.shtm says:

As a result, conditional resident spouses can apply when they become eligible for citizenship, which is 2 years and 9 months from the date of receiving the conditional residency. This is the case even if the I-751 application remains pending.

so , I'm a little confused here of when I should send the naturalization paperwork

You are eligible to file for N-400 in about 2 years and 9 months (the same  "90 days window as for ROC) from the date of issuance of your conditional green card.. So, it's gonna be around the same time you filed for ROC - just in a year, next Summer :)

And since ROC currently takes about a year, that's why I believe there is a big chance for some of us to have both applications (I-751 & N-400) pending by next Summer

You are very welcome  :)

This is from N-400 Instruction:

".. An applicant filing as the spouse of a U.S. citizen under section 319(a) of the INA may file up to 90 days before meeting the required 3-year period of continuous residence as an LPR. Although an applicant may file early according to the 90-day early filing provision, the applicant is not eligible for naturalization until he or she has reached the required 3- or 5-year period of continuous residence as an LPR."

https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/n-400instr.pdf

So, yes, you won't have your citizenship until 3 years period passed (and according to USCIS processing time it's not currently happening anyway, even if you are not "early' filer - takes around 6-8 months to process N-400, depends on your field USCIS Office) , but you CAN and you are ELIGIBLE to file your N-400. At least, I believe, you should be done with NOA1 and ACS appointment by the time of that 3 years period :)

My check is in pending at VSC... I am relieved ^^

Since some of you spoke about that, to get my Conditional Greencard, it took 474 days (from 2014-04-24 to 2015-08-10 ). No RFE, no explanation, no interview, no visit, no phone call (from them). Just waiting and waiting and waiting... I don't want to complain but I really hope it will be shorter this time :P

Exactly one week before (07/06/17) with priority mail.

According to my tracking number, they "received" it on saturday (07/08) but they were probably close for the week-end.

Were you granted conditional resident status at the same time or within 90 days thereafter?

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-751instr.pdf  p.1

"If you have dependent children who acquired conditional resident status on the same day as you or within 90 days thereafter, then include the names and Alien Registration Numbers (A-Numbers) of these children in Part 5. of Form I-751 in order to request that the conditions on their status be removed as well."

We are not Cr1/Cr2, but K1/K2.  Got our conditional green cards at the same day. I filed ONE I-751, including a dependent in Part.5

One check, total of the amount of $765.00 (one filing fee $595.00 and two biometric fees $85.00 x 2 )

We already have our biometric scheduled. :)
