All- I’m sorry if this question makes me sound like a complete idiot :) , but how in the world do you select a different date to search for available appointments? I click on the date at the top, but it never changes the available appointments below? It always says “please select your appointment time for (and then always has today’s date). I can’t figure out how to search ahead the 14 days!!!

Not sure where are you located, but the Orlando office only let you do 14 days in advance. Anything further than that is locked.

So this is effing strange....... all excited to see notice of something coming from USCIS.... mail finally arrives and it's a damn biometrics letter!!

I already got & completed my biometrics last AUGUST!!!!

UGH!!!!!!!!!

Very strange, I also got my biometrics last August, but yesterday I received two NOA saying "we are currently processing... we are able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics; it is not necessary for you to appear..."

The city and zip code were correct, but not the state...

Hello guys,

It seems strange things are happening

Last month when checking my case status I also got the notice that my case had been moved to my local office, so I created an USCIS account (my account@uscis) following another user advice and apparently my docs are still in CSC. Yesterday I received two NOA saying they are processing my case and are able to reuse my captured biometrics, so I do not need to appear... but I got my biometrics last August!

The letters have the correct city and zip code but not the state

Hello!

Please, has anyone been through a situation like this? My question is about the extension stamp.

My extension letter will expire at the end of July, so I am trying to get an infopass to get the extension stamp, but my passport expired some months ago. I already called USCIS to ask about this and  they told me I could get an extension stamp on my expired passport. I asked what about bringing two passport photos (I read this in a post) and she told me I could do that, too. However and given the confusing circumstances with our cases I am not sure anymore .

Will they accept the passport pictures and give me a doc replacing my passport or do I need to renew it?

Thank you!

They won't stamp an expired passport.  But they can stamp your I-94 with I-551. You need to bring 2 passport style pictures to get I-551 in your I-94 form.

https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/history-search

When you get your passport renewed (without rush :) ) I believe you can go back and get your new passport stamped. But hopefully your ROC will be done by that time...

Good luck!! :)

I managed to get a Tier 2 agent today.... she said they do see my biometrics marked complete from last August, and she's not sure why I got the 2nd letter. She advised I go anyways and speak to an officer on site (UGH) - we could open a ticket for a 'service review' but that could take 2-3 weeks at best, and by then the appointment date would already be missed. She wouldn't advise that on the chance my case comes up for review and they don't have the current biometrics or whatever it is they're looking for and causing further delays! **sigh**  Luckily, my boss is ok with me making up time at work.... we've already discussed how I will need to take a day off every 30 days to drive to the state's office to get the extension stamp (and at best, will need to do so about 6-8 times.... effing CSC)

So just more hoops and BS.....

@ChristinaGMy suggestion with this latest computer glitch is not to attend that biometric appt (if your following June, July and August ROC filers many have received false notices AND to attend appt out of state (some cross country) to boot!,  but attend an info pass appt to get the I-551 stamp for everyone.  I am assuming that this is why you'll need to visit 6-8 in the few months.  I would go prepared with everyones GC, extension letters, and passports.  Surely USCIS understands the strain varied GC dates puts on families and would accommodate.  (For goodness sake!!).

Being a member for years now, if posters have posted correctly, many  Tier 2 agents have different answers for the same concern just as field office practices vary from field office to field office.

You're so right about the hoops and BS.

This latest glitch (and misprinted GC) has me now worried about security breeches with all the hacking and mismanagement of personal data.

Hi everyone,

I filed on end of July 2017 and upon checking my status, I see following messages:

my.uscis.gov website: 'We will begin processing your case and will review it to make sure you have submitted all of the required information and documents. We will let you know if we need anything else'. When I go to case history it says 'We received your case and waived the filing fee'

egov.uscis.gov/casestatus website: 'On Aug 2, 2017 we received your case....and how we will process your case...'

FYI, my extension letter says: Vermont Service Center at the bottom..

Questions:

1. My case has still has a last update from Aug 3rd, 2017. How do I know they send it to the local office?

2. My extension letter will expire end of Oct 2018, I can't find any Info pass appointments, have anyone here had luck in getting appointment, any tricks like certain time (morning, evening etc. to look for appointments)

3. I did my biometrics last year in August, does it mean that I could be expecting another biometrics letter?

Thanks,

MB2017

Seems like a lot of people here got info passes and stamps on their passport. Just a couple questions

1: How much did it cost, if it cost anything?

2: What should I walk with?

3: How long did it take?

Thanks for the response. You guys have been so helpful and encouraging.

1.  no cost other than gas and parking fee to get to the appt.

2. you make an info pass appt via uscis at your field office  https://my.uscis.gov/appointment

3. could take weeks to get an appt if your located in a city that is super busy.  otherwise, should be about a 2 week wait.  Actual appt should be in and out but again, if your office is busy you may have to wait a bit prior to be seen by an IO.

1. You don't.  Apparently those letters/notices were just indicating files were touched and moved from one part of the building to another.  It doesn't mean your file is being looked at or processed.  One never really knows what goes on at the service centers and how our apps are processed, and if one does, procedures are forever changing so it's just a guess.

2. Keep searching.  Some have suggested trying very late at night such as midnight or very early in the morning like 6:30-7am.  Apparently new appts are released then.  Refresh your screen often and make it a habit to look constantly.  At some locations its a real endevour.  Be patient and persistent!

3. No, there have been some glitches lately along with misprinted GC.  If you did one then you should be good.  In some cases people have been approved without.

Hang tight!

Also, what’s the time reference for the stamp?

I filed in July, but the letter is good until October. I am an airline pilot, and I need to travel in and out of the USA. I am not sure of WHEN I need to go get the stamp... I can’t wait for the letter to expire.... thanks so much for the help!

Question to people who were looking into getting an info pass (for extension stamp/ I-551) :

1. My GC will expire October this year. Can you get/secure an appointment months before (it expires)?

Ideally you can make an appointment a month before your third year anniversary of being CR.
