Did you see my last update? I called last friday and the tier2 person put in a request for the CSC to schedule appointment for me ( isn't that what I am waiting for all this time? :-) ) but the good thing that came out of it is that I was given a receipt number that I can track online . This receipt number should be what is on my Biometrics letter.

Yes there is always that fear,eh? (. letter was lost/ returned and whatnot and they think that you voided the application.).

Haha, I didn't read that properly. Yay, that is awesome! Maybe I'll try to ask specifically for the CSC to schedule an appointment

I got an info pass appointment coming up on Oct 11th, so if that doesn't work maybe they can help if I am in person. On top of not receiving my bio-metrics, when I got my NOA1 they didn't have my Apt number on it. NOA1 still made it, but it adds a layer of me being nervous that my Bio-metrics could get lost. When I called to tell them that my address was incorrect, I was told I have to go in person because I don't have my tracking number... Feels like I am going in circles with them!

Sooo... my noa1 was dated 07/24. And I filed for a service request on 08/25 which got answered on 09/06 saying "we're  experiencing longer delays". It's been 3 weeks since that email.

My friend who filed a month after me already got her biometrics appointment. What the hell is going on there?? I really hope I'm part of those people that do not need the biometrics taken

For some reason these "longer delays" are only happening to people who filed in late July... Everyone else seems to be getting biometrics on time... <_< Now i wish I'd waited a few days to file :bonk:

I know! I see a lot of people who filed in early August already got biometrics... So weird.

I called USCIS today and spoke to a  tier 2 person, and she said nothing scheduled for me and they should have scheduled by now... She filed request on my behalf and told me I should receive a letter in 15 days. Now waiting again and see if it actually happens...

Wait...and wait...and then when you're done waiting, wait some more haha. I wouldn't expect we'll hear anything until at least next summer.

Hi everyone. I'm one of the late july fillers still waiting for biometrics. At least it's good to know that Im not alone... My NOA is dated July 31. I called USCIS on Sept. 20 and they just gave me a confirmation number and told me that I should receive my biometrics letter within 15 days...still waiting. It is frustrating but I'm sure everything will be fine for all of us. I'm planning to apply for my citizenship in 9 months. Any of you are planning to send the i-400 package before the ROC gets approved? Good luck to all!

Hi,

For ROC, is interview mandatory or optional? What are the chances of interview?

In general it is saying that only 10 percent of them they called for interview?

It's a random :) And most cases get approval without interview .. Unless you didn't have enough 'proof" to send in with original submission of yout I-751 or to reply to RFE if it was issued.

Not really relates to the ROC cases. But I had been looking for jobs after receiving the NOA1 and 2. And I saw some cases online saying that some HR asked to see the GC after the employee showed them Driver's license and SSN(It's actually illegal for the employer to choose which docs to present for I9 as stated on the top of I9 form), and they didn't accept NOA1(extension letter). So in order to have peace of mind, I went to the immigration office here today to get a stamp on my passport.

..

The old lady there had a bad attitude(no smile whatsoever, no response after I asked her how was she, there were only 3 people there total including myself, she just couldn't wait to send us home) and of course, she didn't stamp my passport.

They really can refuse to stamp your passport if your Extension Letter is still valid...

Just in case, if there are some troubles with employer, have this document printed.... Unfortunately, sometimes it's on us - to "educate"  Air Company ground stuff, DMV., HR managers....

This is from Handbook for Employers  M-274

https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/71-lawful-permanent-residents-lpr

"LPRs and conditional residents may be issued temporary I-551 documents. These documents are acceptable for Form I-9 as follows:

  • The combination of an expired Permanent Resident Card and a Form I-797, Notice of Action, that indicates that the card is valid for an additional year, is an acceptable List C evidence of employment authorization for one year as indicated on Form I-797. At the end of the one-year period, you must reverify."
