The NOA1 date was Jul 24. We haven't received biometrics letter yet. Tomorrow will be three weeks since we received NOA1.

Seems like there is quite a few of us from California Service Center with NOA1s in the end of July that haven't received our bio letters yet. Hopefully we all will receive our letters shortly

I see that a few members on the list with CSC NOA1s in late July haven't logged in since the first few days of August so they might have receieved their bio letter since but there is still quite a few of us active members that are still waiting. I check the mailbox so eagerly every day.

Even more  My son's AOS was filed separately, because he didn't arrive at the same time with me. But it was filed from new address. So, almost 9 months later we BOTH received RFE - his envelope had new, current address, mine - still had old one!!! It was crossed out, actually, and a new current address was written.. by hands, but still - originally it was going to be mailed with old address on it.

I think, my son's AOS finally made them recognize our new current address... 

 

So, I would recommend  - 1. fill out AR-11, on line, and you should have on-line confirmation immediately.  Also, I received a confirmation via regular mail 2-3 weeks later. 

                                          2. Form I-865, for USC. Only via regular mail. My husband got his confirmation also 2-3 weeks later.

                                          3. Notify your local Post Office, about chage of your address. I believe there is a form you have to fill out with your Post Office, and it's valid for 6 months, then you can update this again - if something with your names arrives at your old address, the Post Office will direct it to you to your new address - this is how my EAD and other paperwork from USCIS found me.

                                          4. Try to keep in touch with people at your previous address... Just in case. Let them know you may be still receiving some mails and that they should just let you know..

That does seem a bit of a headache on changing addresses.

 

Assuming no major career changes, we're planning on staying where we are until after the 10 year green card (or nationalization if that long of a wait) is approved.  And use the estimated 12-14 months of waiting to continue to save up to purchase a home.  

 

I see it as a congradulations!  We're done with paperwork for a while!  Now let's do a ####### ton of harder paperwork and buy a home lol

We moved more than a year ago and we filed AR-11 at that time. But we just found out that the sponsor needs to file I-865 as well. The problem is that I already filed I-751.....

I looked through some other posts and most them just filed I-865 late after they found out about it. I don't remember what date I put on AR-11 before if we want to file I-865. 

I wonder if it's necessary to do it or not since it's already late and most of the people who filed before didn't get confirmation after filing and didn't have any problems with ROC.

Any input is appreciated.

Same here. My husband and I have been living in the same place ever since I moved to the U.S. and we are only planning to move after I'm done with Naturalization.

The I-865 was news to me too. We filed as soon as we found out, which is around the time we filed the ROC. My wife got a confirmation letter from USCIS last Friday. For a moment,  I thought it was my biometrics letter but when I saw it was addressed to her, I knew it was about the change of address.

For Vermont Service center, how many days it will take to receive Biometrics appointment letter?

 

My NOA1 date is 08/01/2017 and still we are waiting for Biometrics appointment letter?

I only found out about I-865 about a month before I filed ROC so I did it then. I would absolutely do it because at least if you were ever asked about it you could say you didn't know initially that it needed to be done, but as soon as you did know, you sought to fix your mistake. I really wish USCIS did a better job of communicating (ha, right) about the I-865. How hard would it be to include a line on the AR-11 page and on the AR-11 form saying, "NOTE: If at any time in the past someone completed an I-864 Affidavit of Support to sponsor you, and that person is also changing address, they must file a separate I-865 Sponsor Change of Address form"? 

 

I also filed AR-11 multiple times. We moved in March 2016, but when my reminder that ROC was coming up was sent this past April, it was sent to the address we hadn't lived at for 13 months. So I panicked and sent AR-11 again, and I've gotten my NOA and biometrics no problem at our current address, but I still worry that it looks to them like I was over a year late changing my address, let alone my husband's.

It's an average of 21 days wait. I'm still waiting for mine. My NOA date is 07-31.
