They absolutely did. The first time (I-485, I-130) it was close to $6500 including uscis fee. This last go around (I-751), it was $2400 including uscis fee.

Considering all the issues we had with the firm, we definitely got ripped off. Live and learn, I suppose.

Before I hired the firm that I got, I went to 3 different free consults, and they all were asking 5k+. I'm like "Im not paying that" So one day I was in the car listening some music and this ad comes up about an immigration lawyer. I check their reviews, 4.5 stars btw, and their fee was $2,500, and from the beggining they created a bond of trust, they were great.

Hiring lawyer for immigration application is such a waste of money. You don't need lawyer if your situation is not too difficult. My spouse and I never hired lawyer for my EAD, AOS and until now for my ROC. We did on our own, it's just a matter of research. Google is our best friend for my immigration process. =)

In I-751 form have to fill height.

In my DL i told them my height is 5'11 and i am using the DL with height printed on 5'11.

Just checked in my primary care physician my height is 5'9.
I remembered in CR1, the physician filled my height.

Please suggest which i height have to fill DL height (5'11) or current physician height (5.9) ?

I'm sure I had the ability to do it myself, but I didn't want to take the chance.

Actually, you are taking a bigger chance when you use a lawyer.

No one will take more pains to be careful and correct than the persons themselves.

Lawyers turn everything over to helpers who are busy gossiping on Skype, etc.

Lawyers will not keep you informed about what is happening.

Lawyers will lose documents, forget to notify you of timely action needed.

And the list goes on and on.

Correct is 5'9 by physican.

That was not by physician.

That was measured by nurse aid who was worried because she was late for her period.

No need to make a rude comment about a person (nurse), who you've never seen, and who can't even respond to your inappropriate "statement"..

Besides,at the end of all,  measurements have been signed by physician.

P.S. BTW, I wasn't asked at DMV about my height. She literally stood up next to me and "measured" me by sight. And since 2014 it's on my DL, so was on my AOS, and now - on my I-751.

I've just called USCIS and asked: "Sir, can you tell me why now it takes more than a year to process I-751 while just half a year ago it took only 5-6 months?". And he said this is because they received 3 times as more applications during pre-election period since people tried to do it before a new president gets elected. However, it makes no sense to me for 2 reasons: 1. Everyone was sure that Clinton would win so they were not supposed to worry about Trump. 2. How is it possible for application filing to fluctuate if you must file exactly during a period of 3 months preceding the expiration date on your GC. If you have to file from June 1st to August 31st, then you file from June 1st to August 31st and you have no choice. I can say exactly that delays started from applications filed in April 2016. It means, if to believe his words, people who could file from April 1st to July 1st of 2016, suddenly realized that Trump may win and kick out everyone. So June, May and April filers all filed in April and then  July, June and May filers all filed in May and so on and so forth.  Also I asked: "Sir, so do you mean that this is not because they now look into each case very closely and call everyone for interview?." And he said no.  Does it sound reasonable to you?

Response from that staff does not sound reasonable to me at all. I would guess it's the workload transferred from other centers and they don't have enough resources to handle those cases as fast as before. I wouldn't think it's because of the new president's policy because so far his target has been the illegal immigrant and the ones who committed crimes here.

My wife expires by the end of the month as well. We sent the packet on 7/12 and was received on 7/13, the check was cash 7/18. Now we're waiting for NOA on the mail so she can go and renew her driver license. For citizenship we already said that we gonna do it as soon the 90 days windows opens, since she want to file a petition for he parents to come in to USA as residents.

Our packet was received by VSC on 7/13 as well and so far the check wasn't cashed and no NOA. Beginning to worry now!

Mailed i-751 on 7/6/2017 (Vermont Processing Center). Check cashed on 7/13/2017. GC expires 8/10. I still haven't received the NOA (live in DC). Should I be worried? I'm beginning to get nervous!

Oh God!

Reading here I see cards and insurance statements are a must. Well I didn't send our health, dental insurance or credit card statements. I just sent copy of our credit card and copy of the dental insurance card with both name printed and a copy of my health insurance profile where my husband, daughter and me figure, as well as our member # also the insurance card, well on the coverletter we wrote to them we tell them to feel free to confirm any evidence and invited them to visit our home. I think the worst can happen is they request an interview or ask for more evidence. Well well well lack of info.
