I applied N400 too. My interview is in 2 weeks. Very likely they are going to do a combo interview. I am hoping they will approve I751 right before the interview. lol

If they first approve the i-751 then it wont be a combo interview.

What hotel are you talking about? Interviews are always done at your local field offices, whenever you send documents to California and you get an interview it's still scheduled at your field office.

Yea I would feel frustrated if I were you too. You are almost coming up on 14 months waiting. You are not interested in applying for N-400? My NOA is 10/16/2017 and if they cannot give me an update on my case before then. I am forced to apply for N-400 because only God knows how long they will take with the I-751 application. For all I know, they are just going to keep handing out extensions until the universe ends.

Hi All-

I'm a CSC filer (NOA was 7.26.17) and I've just got a letter telling me to come to my local office (Chicago) for an interview for i-751 on 9.25 (it was mailed on 9.6 but we had a mail-hold while on vacation) - the letter tells me to bring my husband and proof of the bona fide of our marriage.  Neither of my online accounts (my.uscis and egov.uscis) have the letter listed or status updated - one is showing my address change from April 2018 and one is showing the 'moved to local office' from back in Feb 18.  All very odd.

Anyway, rather than stressing out about it, I've decided to be happy that something is moving on my case!

In case it's relevant - I have also filed for my N-400 already, so I've added the extra pieces of evidence that I gathered for that (2017 tax return, mortgage), to the pack that I originally prepared and will take them along on 9.25.

Has anyone else been for interview?  If so, I'd love to hear how it went, what to expect etc.  I'm assuming that we should ask my MIL to watch our daughter, rather than bring a rambunctious 15-month old along?

Thanks all in advance!

Hi All - so, we had our interview today.  I know a few folks from Chicago asked for more details, so here it is!

After going through security, we went upstairs to level 2.  My husband took our daughter to sit and wait while I checked us in.  Our appointment was scheduled for 11am and we arrive to check in at about 10.15.  Once checked in, we took a seat at the far end of the hall, near Door 1.  We got called in at around 11.15.

The immigration officer was pleasant.  After swearing us in, and asking for our ID, he took my photo and finger scans.  He then got out his big file (and I also had my copy of everything we've submitted).  He asked me to confirm my details (name, dob, place of birth, address), and asked my husband the same - at this point he was just going through our paperwork and putting tick marks next to each section he confirmed.  He asked about where I was working, where we got married, how we met.  He asked for our daughter's birth certificate.  When I said it was in the pack we'd sent, and that I had another copy with me, he said he didn't need it, and he found it in his paperwork.  He seemed like he hadn't looking through our pack at all (although this might just be how they present - who knows?!).  He then asked if we had any evidence we'd like to submit.  I offered to pull from the whole pack, or asked if he just wanted new things from after we filed. He asked for that, so I gave him our:

  • Mortgage paperwork (we bought a condo in March) and our most recent mortgage statement
  • 2017 jointly-filed tax return
  • Current homeowners insurance
  • Current policy for my engagement ring
  • Current car insurance
  • Quarterly bank statements for our savings account
  • Last 3 months bank statements for checking account
  • Last 2 months credit card statements

He didn't look at anything we gave him, just marked it down and put it in the file.

I also said I had photos and asked if he wanted to see them.  He said yes.  I brought our who wedding set, and I pulled some from that until he said he had enough wedding ones.  I then gave him some of our us with our daughter (from the one of the three of us as we left hospital onwards).  Again, after I'd pulled 5 or 10 he said he had enough of them (I made sure to include some recent one and some with us and her and our parents).  Lastly I offered him some random photos of me and my husband over the last few years and he took a few.  I then also gave him some of the thank-you cards/ anniversary cards/ invitations to things that we've been sent from friends and family. He looked at quite a few and took a couple.

He then asked if we had any other questions - I asked if he felt that he had enough from us, or if there was anything key he was missing.  He said he felt like he had a good amount.  He then gave us a receipt saying that the case was still under review, and he said that this was normal.  He said that if we don't hear anything in 90 days, then I should get back in contact, but he felt that we should hear much sooner than that.  I also asked if he knew why we'd been brought in for interview - was it a standard 10% audit, or where there any red flags on our case?  He said that he didn't know - he's just told who to interview. He then showed us out.

My case status online still shows 'moved to a local office' from back in Feb, but I'm hoping it will get updated to show that I had the interview and (fingers crossed), that I'll be approved soon!

Hi all, first post ever here...

Similar to dizzykjk, I'm a CSC filer (NOA 7-15-17) just received a letter to show up at local office (San Francisco) for i-751 interview. Nothing changed online. Case was never 'moved to local office' or other notifications. I am not too worried, but it says to bring my spouse and evidence.

Other facts of interest:

I received the official 18-month extension 9-6-17.

I also filed for N-400 (NOA 7-30-18), biometrics done, and no word since.

I guess my questions is:  this probably will NOT be a combo interview for i-751 and N-400 ???

I just wanted to give info that ROC interviews are not that rare apparently 🙂

Are you sure your NOA is 7/15/17? Is that what the letter shows or is that the day you sent your ROC package? I'm asking cause 7/15/17 fell on a Saturday and they didn't have any records for that day in 2017. What are the 5 digits of your case number after WAC?
