Hi Everyone- So it seems like most of us are starting to get the courtesy copies aka the I-797C. I got that as well yesterday and I have done all the filing myself. So, practically I should be getting the regular extension letter (i-797) in the mail sometime soon.

But all this unnecessary fiasco makes me wonder why on earth does uscis is so eager to complicate things for all intending immigrants. Just send us one damn letter and be done with it.

Anyways, I hope the ones still waiting on the extension receive their letter soon. Hang in there guys.

Hello !  Just want to share our experience at my My husband Infopass appt yesterday to get his passport stamp-  It was super easy to get the appt here in Rhode Island  and also we were there for less that 15mins.  From there we went to the Social Security Office to request a copy of his SS card which was lost, no issues either his Stamped passport and DL was sufficient. ( He is a VSC filler NOA 8/1 and we received his 18 month extension letter about a week ago). Only reason we got the stamp is because I lost his GC.

Im trying to figure out if those who didn’t use an attorney but received the i797c should be expecting the official extension letter later.
