I-751 July 2017 Filers

I received two text messages around 4:30am from USCIS today saying "We are still reviewing your case. We will notify when your status changes"

This is the first time I've EVER received any notification from them. in 13 months

Either:

a) They are sending these to everyone to let people know we haven't been forgotten about them as I suspect they are inundated with requests

b) There is some activity on my case!

Anyone else get this? I'm a CSC filer.

EDIT: Just checked and I also got an email saying the same. Interestingly it says they last took action on July 18th... but when I log on it doesn't say anything of the sort.

this is just scheduled outbound email job from my personal opinion. It sends emails to petitioners at regular intervals. you can disable it if you find it annoying or not useful. I receive it regularly I think after every few weeks.

While I am very glad for the VSC fliers( CONGRATS!)  who got their 2nd extension letter, I am beginning to wonder what the heck is going on with CSC

My extension letter is up Sep 25.  The Sacramento office seems to be busy and not readily giving out appointments, so as per a few others I made an appointment at the Reno office today. Well, that was a waste of my time... I did not get the INFOPASS stamp. First they were short of staff as the IO was doing front desk work as well as her own, even though there were not many waiting. The IO I saw said I would have to wait until her supervisor came back so waited another 20mins for him to return. When I saw him, he said that  I can't get the stamp as I am too 'early' and should basically come back 1 wk before expiration ?!!( week of sep 17 but not on Thursday as they do not do stamps then) .

He said that others from out of state are doing like what I did  (sounds like he did not approve of this even though he is well aware that other offices are busy / no appts availabile) and soon they , as well as other offices , will be stopping that.  He said that people are coming in too early ( from what he said, his staff would not give out a stamp that early and if one did, they should not have) and all of a sudden they get the 18month extension letter and/or 10yr green card which causes confusion.  He said that I should wait for the extension letter or green card to come. REally? Like I was waiting for my biometrics letter to appear and never did arrive until close to 10mths after I submitted i751(I did get a letter that they will use what is on file) ?!   He did not check any systems to see if an extension letter was sent out or what is the status of my i751?  There is no reason why he could/should not  be able to do this .

Now I have to pray and hope the new extension letter comes and if not, try my luck with the Sacramento office and /or try again  closer to my expiration date in Reno again.

Maybe I will try to call USCIS and hope that someone will be able to let me know if the extension letter was mailed out? I won't be holding my breath though as I had no luck when I called about the biometrics letter.   ON the USCIS site sometime in June 2018, in black and white, they said that extension letter would be sent out since they are so far behind and yet here we are , 2 mths later and still waiting. Regular mail is slow but this is ridiculous.

If any CSC July Fliers got theirs (2nd) extension letter, please update us.

Oh no! I'm in the exactly same situation. My local office is Sacramento and I have an appointment in 2 weeks at the Reno office. My expiration letter expires in October 23rd.... Good luck to you and please keep us updated. I will let you know what happens in Reno on the 27th.

I received a letter few days ago saying the I-751 is approved without an interview and I had filed on July 5th to Vermont Service Center. I checked the Case # in the letter on the USCIS website and today it showed that the Card has been mailed. That is about 13 months. Just wanted to post here so that others here don't lose hope.

Well i hope it works out for you. Did not for me.

.

Yesterday I tried my luck and submitted an online request for infopass appointment for Sac office. I felt lucky when about 45mins ago an IO called ( tel # shows as from Kansas and not all zeroes ) and said that he can give me appointment at my local office this Friday. I went Whoooooooo!!. He gave me pin /confirmation number that starts with SAC . I asked if I can confirm the address and he said that the email that I will receive will have that.  I got an email about this appointment and the freaking thing said "We are pleased we could assist you with your inquiry today via telephone. As discussed in our conversation, we have determined that this issue will best be addressed by your local USCIS Field Office. We scheduled an appointment for you at the El Paso Field Office ....."  WHAT??? EL PASO OFFICE?? WHAT/?? of course I can't call them back( as well I am working right now ) In the email there is a link to print off the appointment which led me to a generic uscis site where i punched in my pin/ confirmation number and it came back with no appt scheduled or such. WHAT??!!!!   Maybe I will have to wait for system to be updated. REGARDLESS, I AM GOING TO MY LOCAL SACRAMENTO OFFICE THIS FRIDAY.  If I get turned away from SAC office, I will scream ( silently of course as I do not want to be arrested for causing a disturbance ). I do NOT believe this.

yeah, but is there anything that we can do to speed up the process? it has been over a year...I know that few years ago was an option to send a letter to the congressman of the state?

No. Can't do anything.

Some people are still waiting since 2016. Let that sink it. ;) Congressman won't do anything since the process times are well over the year.
