I’m getting a letter from USCIS finally. My extension letter expired on 8/5/18. So they sent this letter on the next business day of the expiration date. Well, I hope it’s good news! I filed at VSC, they received it on 7/5/17. I haven’t file for citizenship and I already got my extension stamp, my receipt is EAC17278XXXX . I’ll let you know what the letter says later today.

I’ve been waiting for a year. The letter is the extension letter saying they extend my status for 18 months from the expiration date on the greencard. Hopefully, they give me Ann approval soon.

Do you have kids from your marriage? so is that mean they will extend the time for people who their cases will take longer or it is just a routine thing?

No kids here. I think they will send the letter to people whose extension letters have expired. Mine expired on 8/7/18, I believe.

But you have your stamp? So the extension letter is mute really. They left it late to mail them out would of thought they would auto send the 18 month letter when they changed the time limit.

Just went to Cleveland to get my stamp today. My extension letter expires on the 26th

Be scheduling mine next month in Cleveland as well. Extension expires on September 30th.

I went to Philadelphia yesterday to get a stamp (I was finally lucky to have an appointment after 1 month trying). They gave me one year but keeped my green card. No question asked about the timing, since my extension letter expire today.

After that, I went to PennDot to renew my driving license who was expired for one month. Just had to show my passport with the stamp and they renewed it. Again, no question asked about the timing and why I waited one month before renew this driving license.

I have to tell that I feel relieve since I was without driving license for one month, it is difficult to you live in a small city without a driving license!

Now, I am back to the waiting game ^^

There is availability pretty much whenever you want it. She kept my greencard as well. But overall I was in and out in a few mins.

Yeah I got the stamp. I’m still glad I have an official document that says my status is extended.

nope false alarm. They do that to people often.I got an update on July 30 that my case has been touched and when I went online it said case was received by local office on July 30 instead of the usual April 9 2018.I got my infopass stamp for another year.It means nothing, the system is auto generating messages when someone just touches or moves your file, doesnt necessarily mean an approval is coming, can be either or.Just hope we all get approved within a month or 2

Received today the same 18-month extension letter that several others here have received.

It was dated 8/6/18, so I strongly suspect that the email we received on 8/4/18 advising us that " We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time.  We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on July 21, 2018" was prompted by the production of this letter (our 12-month extension letter was due to expire 8/26).

So I'll be cancelling the infopass appointment we had scheduled for next Monday since this letter precludes any need for an I-551 stamp.

Back to waiting!
