@Roel, It will probably take atleast 4-5 months before CSC July 2017 filers get approved at this rate. They are processing Feb/March filers right now. You guys are lucky !

VSC filer. Extension letter expires in October 2018. Attended InfoPass at NYC office this afternoon.

Briefly explained why I was there, agent quickly looked at the extension letter and stamped my passport with 1 year extension, then returned my letter and expired GC.

Very quick and happy with outcome.

The problem with the back log of approvals is down to two things.  First President Trump is very strict on legal immigration and many people who sailed threw the process under President Obama may have had some things in there record that the new administration is taking a harder look at.  For example if you had some kind of criminal activity on your record in your home country that was previously not an issue now it may be an issue.  If you had some criminal activity in the USA since your 2 year green card was issued that may now be an issue.

Also its the 4th quarter of the fiscal year for the US Government.  That means money is running out for the agency's that run the country.  Budgets are tight right now, overt time is not being authorized like it has been in past years due to attempts to balance the federal budget.  On 30 Sept the US government shuts down if a new budget is not approved by then.  This worries me as my wife's extension letter runs out on 24 Oct 2018.

If the US Government shuts down all routine business grinds to  a halt, if you had an appointment for a stamp on  day the government is shut down your screwed and may need to re schedule it.  I plan on getting my wife her stamp in late September if need be.

The final thing is for all of you that have gone to your regional offices to et a stamp.  The people you see sitting at the counters are the front line low level people who deal with customers.  They are not the ones making decision's on your permanent green card.  You don't see them there in fancy offices behind closed doors.  I can say this as a front lone person at another non related federal agency.

hey! its me AGAIN! lol i just wanted to list the documents i uploaded for the n400 and give me ur opinion. So I uploaded a copy of my green card, marriage certificate, my husband s naturalization certification, verification of car insurance, lease of the two cars i have that both our names are listed, account transcripts from 2014-15-16-17, my w2 of 2016-17, and i ll upload the new apt lease for this year. And I'm done i guess?

i think those should be enough. I sent a bunch of stuff with the green card paperwork.. i don't want to rescan everything.. it will take me years lol

also, since I'm a flight attendant i fly out of the country a lot but only when i go to Europe i stay over 24 hours. Anyway , I was able to find the exact dates and write them down but its not for leisure is for business only. Do I need to make a note or something to let them know ?

This is not true. I have seen people getting things done during last few shutdowns. I can agree with overtime but not about total shutdown. old article for reference.

Sacramento is also my office and after submitting a request for “help” and getting nowhere with them on the phone, and finding that San Francisco also isn’t taking appointments currently, I ultimately just decided I’d go to Reno instead. It’s super easy to book an appointment there at basically any time of day you want and on any date within the upcoming 2-week window. Plus...free parking!

How did your Infopass in Reno go? I will do it ( just came back from vacation so I could not make appt)

I just went to check on the processing times (to see if anything improved) and realized that now Nebraska and Texas are shown as service centers.... I wonder if now they are going to transfer cases to those centers to make things go faster....

any clue?

any case transferred?
