I got my I-551 stamp today for 1 year. I am a VSC filer but the lady at the counter told me currently it's taking them 2 to 3 years to process applications and applying for naturalization won't speed up anything. I think she was unaware or blatantly lying as the current processing times show April 18,2018 for VSC applications.  Either way got my extension for another year so I can work in peace. Tired of waiting, been around 13 months since application. Another info they gave me was that my case was in transit to Vermont? Not even sure what that's supposed to mean. On July 30, my application status stayed the same but updated the timeline saying" On july 30,2018 we received your case at local office" instead of "April 9, 2018", not even sure what that means or entails. i guess I will find out when i do lol Any other filers with case EAC17284xxx facing similar issues?

she just told you what she knew or what she believed she know at the time,  even without checking whatever information uscis systems provides,  i wouldnt call her lying

i think your case is being processed now, you should hear from them soon

just my 2 cents

Wow, 2+ years of being married goes quick.

I can only blame myself for being lazy and not submit ROC within the early weeks of 90 days prior to heg GC expiration.

My wife's card/extension expires October 4th. She received another NOA. We have to go to Philadelphia for her Biometrics and picture....AGAIN. We can't figure out why. We have vacation planned later in October. It's getting too close for comfort.

I wouldn't be counting on getting that extension to the extension letter I call it....but do get yourself an infopass appt and get that stamp.  I seriously doubt USCIS will have all those in place prior to the time people need them.  We should have had them by now!!!  Most of our letters are toast this month or next.

Great point!

I doubt they will even send that new Extension letter to people who filed in June-August 2017 since many of us has already gotten I-551 stamp and a lot of us don't have our conditional green cards anymore (got kept by USCIS in exchange for the stamp) and that makes the Letter completely useless.

yup. If you check out the app there are like hundreds of people stuck on Apr 9, 2018 case received by local office status. They are processing like 1-2 cases a day it seems like. Even when I went for infopass appointment half the employees were just sitting there doing nothing filing their nails with the closed sign in front of their counters or wasting time chatting about BS. These people are lazy as hell and do not care about the process which is why there are massive delays
