I just realized something and maybe i didnt put much thought into it. When we got the biometrics letter, the wac number on there i thought was the actual case number. There has been no movement since 7-6-17.

There is a different wac number on the one year extension letter. I put this into the system and it says back in march that the case was transferred to my local office. I am guessing this really dont mean anything. Which number is the correct one?

There are two numbers. You get one with the NOA1 when you file for ROC and then when they pass the case for biometrics it gets a new number and that is the one that will have all the tracking on it. I believe any other updates (including the extension letter) will have that number on it.

The first number I think is useless for tracking your case.

I've been getting these every 3-4 weeks or so. I don't think they mean anything in terms of how soon you will get your decision... Maybe they do, but I don't think anyone really knows the process at USCIS (Including USCIS)

I figured it is just an automated email to try and prevent applicants from flooding the phone and infopass lines with questions on the case status.

I tried last month, set up VisualPing on the site to notify me of availability, tried everything, and checked at all hours and never saw an appt. I went up there at 10 am and they let me in but the window was closed with a hurricane shutter and there was a handwritten note saying they were taking no more walk-ins for the day. The security guard then told me that they are opening earlier (maybe 6:30 am?) and they had had people get in line as early at 2:30 am to get in for a walk-in appt. It may be worth trying to get an appt at another field office; we considered making a party out of it and taking lawn chairs and a picnic. Sorry, wish it wasn't such a cluster. Are you trying to get a 551 stamp?

Thanks for the heads up. We will not have to think about the InfoPass hassle for another three months. They should really have more than one office for the entire state of Georgia. Florida has at least four offices.

Agreed! If you do end up needing an InfoPass appt you may also try Greer, South Carolina. It's about 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta (northeast of Greenville). Hopefully you won't even have to worry about it!

Has anyone received an email stating " we are still reviewing your case. There are no updates at this time" ?

It also states the last action taken was on July 6, 2018. Not sure if that means anything as if an indication there might be a decision soon or just a useless update generated by the system

From what other people have said I think that means your case is now being actively reviewed. Fingers crossed!!

Yes, I got the same email and it said, "We last took action on your case on July 6, 2018".

I initially filed my I-751 on July 3rd 2017. And since then, I have received this email like 3 or 4 times. Have no clue what it means though. Still waiting for a decision...

If that's what this means, they have been actively reviewing mine since February. :( I'm not sure if there is any point in looking for meaning behind most of this... they'll get to it when they get to it and they will finish when they finish.

I got my stamp today in the USCIS office today in Norfolk, VA. It was very smooth and quick. They took a picture of me and took my right and left index fingerprints. They didn’t keep my greencard and extension letter. The lady gave me a stamp for a year which she said is good for traveling work and any other thing I would get from the greencard; and suggested that if i travel abroad i carry my greencard and extension letter.

Hello Guys!!

I have great news!!! I just got a mail today where they confirmed that they approved my I751 and that I will be receiving my green card soon.

One important thing that I need to mention is that the receipt # that I have used to check the status of my case was not the good one cuz in the notification I received today in my mail, they had the case # that they used when they sent me the extension letter which is different from the one that they used for my biometric appointment letter...  I know it can be confusing buttt....... I just used the new EAC# and now it says that they already mailed the new green card yesterday.

Anyways, just wanted to share this info with you just in case this could be happening to you as well. My NOA date was July 3, 2017.

Already filed the N400 and already had the fingerprints for that too last week... Will keep you posted.

@tdotca Sacramento is currently not allowing you to book an appointment online, you have to submit a help request and wait for them to call you back. Guy who called me back then told me that it just meant there were no appointments available currently and to keep trying. I explained to him three times that the entire field office has suspended making appointments online except in what they deem "urgent" matters (including getting stamps), and that it wasn't a matter of there simply being no open appointments showing online. He finally clued in and tried to find a way to make me an appointment but had no luck. Tried again and got someone else who went through the same process. Then I tried for San Francisco only to find they're doing the exact same thing as Sac re: suspending online appointment scheduling. So efficient.

@mrs thb, how long a wait did you have at the Reno office? I tentatively booked an InfoPass for July 30th but will be making the trip with a friend, and just wondered if they can wait in the car or if I'm going to be a long time and should have them go find something to do while I wait...

@theanswerisdance  so how did you get one for Jul30? or did you book for Reno office?

@mrs thb  is the Reno office being picky on how far in advance you can book ? My expiration is Sep 25. I  need an extension as I got a trip early Oct.

If Sacramento is not giving out appointments , I may just do Reno.

To summarize , you would take Canadian passport, driver license. Extension letter and 'temp' Green Card ( photocopy front/back of both) .  And of course, if you get an appointment, you take that notice along . Do you have to take your Social Security card?

OMG.....we immigrated on the same day!!  How weird is that?  And we're traveling then too!  How coincidental?  Going 'home' for Thanksgiving?

Two weeks window.  My understanding is all infopass appts offer a 2 week window.  Book now.  I had mine on the 13th and I booked the appt on June 29th.  So for sure they'll grant you your stamp!  Well, I can't say that 100% but they granted me, mine.

Yes to all the above and no to the SScard.  Had to use passport as valid ID.  Suppose they would have accepted my DL but I left that in the car.

Good luck....book it now!!!

Your post made me laugh!!! :jest:

Interesting....guess I'll never be able to travel then, cuz they kept my extension letter and expired GC.  Ditto for a ton others. ;)

I wouldn't believe everything these IO's say.  To some, its just a J.O.B. and they give misinformation.

There plenty of us CSC filers hanging around and I have yet to read one post of one not being able to travel for not having their expired extension letter or expired GC on them.  For heaven's sake IO...they aren't valid!!!  That's what the stamp is for!  :):)

Don't stress over having them accompany you on your journeys.
