I mailed my I-751 on 7/7/2017. Last I checked my application was transferred to a local office in April this year so it came as a surprise to get it in the mail this weekend. Best of Luck !

Congratulations......

My husband just received the stupid extension letter Lol! NOA1 8/1/2017- VSC--- I was hoping for an approval,  I lost my wallet at the beginning of the year and his GC and SS card was in it, we have used it  at the DMV a couple of days before to renew his license and I forgot to take it out of my wallet and put it in a safe place. I feel soooo guilty now.  I have an InfoPass appointment scheduled to get the stapm, because they only renew it for a 7 months. We have to go back in October again.

It is continually virtually beyond frustration why most posters here refuse to tell their details when they post about receipt or non receipt of something.

This presents need for others to ask such as:  What is your office, what is your critical number, etc., etc.

This just adds more wasted messages and space here when it would be much more efficient and pleasing to get all the relevant info the first time.

Look at the bottom of this message for my info.

You can create this by clicking on your name at the top, then click on Account Settings, and then on Signature.  Your info can be typed into  the Signature block at it will appear at the end of each of your messages.

Can anyone explain why you refuse to do this ???

What do you mean by critical number? What part on the WAC (for CSC ) or Whatever 'code' is for the VSC fliers are you referring to?

While I am very glad for the VSC fliers( CONGRATS!)  who got their 2nd extension letter, I am beginning to wonder what the heck is going on with CSC

My extension letter is up Sep 25.  The Sacramento office seems to be busy and not readily giving out appointments, so as per a few others I made an appointment at the Reno office today. Well, that was a waste of my time... I did not get the INFOPASS stamp. First they were short of staff as the IO was doing front desk work as well as her own, even though there were not many waiting. The IO I saw said I would have to wait until her supervisor came back so waited another 20mins for him to return. When I saw him, he said that  I can't get the stamp as I am too 'early' and should basically come back 1 wk before expiration ?!!( week of sep 17 but not on Thursday as they do not do stamps then) .

He said that others from out of state are doing like what I did  (sounds like he did not approve of this even though he is well aware that other offices are busy / no appts availabile) and soon they , as well as other offices , will be stopping that.  He said that people are coming in too early ( from what he said, his staff would not give out a stamp that early and if one did, they should not have) and all of a sudden they get the 18month extension letter and/or 10yr green card which causes confusion.  He said that I should wait for the extension letter or green card to come. REally? Like I was waiting for my biometrics letter to appear and never did arrive until close to 10mths after I submitted i751(I did get a letter that they will use what is on file) ?!   He did not check any systems to see if an extension letter was sent out or what is the status of my i751?  There is no reason why he could/should not  be able to do this .

Now I have to pray and hope the new extension letter comes and if not, try my luck with the Sacramento office and /or try again  closer to my expiration date in Reno again.

Maybe I will try to call USCIS and hope that someone will be able to let me know if the extension letter was mailed out? I won't be holding my breath though as I had no luck when I called about the biometrics letter.   ON the USCIS site sometime in June 2018, in black and white, they said that extension letter would be sent out since they are so far behind and yet here we are , 2 mths later and still waiting. Regular mail is slow but this is ridiculous.

If any CSC July Fliers got theirs (2nd) extension letter, please update us.

I just got my 18 month extension letter today. Filed with VSC,my number is 17276..... First NOA 7/3/2017,biometrics done August 2 /2017

Same here. 18 months extension today. VSC. 17276...

Tried to call USCIS a week ago asking for 18 mo letter. But tier 2 didn't have a checkbox in her computer to put this request in. Processed that as "expedite case" request. Obviously that wasn't working. Got a meaningless response to that.

Hi! I've been checking this thread for the last few months. Registered just to let people know about stamp I got yesterday. I had InfoPass scheduled 2 months prior to expiration of my letter.

Very kind group of workers - starting from security control ending with the gentleman at the kiosk.

I didn't have to explain anything , beg for anything ( although I really needed a stamp to travel in October) ,he just gave it to me for a whole year AND returned my green card and letter! So in case you are few hours away and can't schedule anything in your field office maybe Charlotte, NC can work better for you

Oh Man!  I am so disappointed!!

Sorry you were unsuccessful.  If its the same person, then I hear you.  We've had her many times and yah, not the happiest of the bunch,  The men there are far more helpful.  Guess the sup held her word just to satisfy her.  And the rest is bs, cuz you and I both know we have identical dates and I was given the stamp on the 13th of July which renders their song and dance as untrue. Maybe she the offspring of some superstar.

It amazes me that people from VSC who already received their 10 GC are receiving the new extension letters.  There's several of them. Blows my mind!  Just one more example of how messed up this process is.  Gosh, it's pretty scary!!

Hang tight and maybe you should try downloading that auto refresher people spoke about earlier on this thread.

So it seems like some April folks from California center got their new extension letters. And somebody from May got an 18 months extension letter while having a recently approved 10 year green card on their hands. I’m impressed with their service 😅

Okay so I checked the mail and we also received an extension letter AFTER we have already received our 10 year GC. Pretty confused but hoping it was just a backlog on their part and nobody is coming to take our GC away!!! 😕

There have been some questions regarding replacing lost Social Security Cards here recently.

I believe some wrong answers have been give.

First, concerning trying to do this on the Internet:

You can use a my Social Security account to request a replacement Social Security card online if you:

  • Are a U.S. citizen age 18 years or older with a U.S. mailing address;

So this rules out most all here (or their spouses).

Second, concerning trying to do this at a SS office:

To prove your U.S. immigration status, you must show us your current U.S. immigration document, such as:

  • Form I-551 (Lawful Permanent Resident Card, Machine Readable Immigrant Visa);
  • I-766 (Employment Authorization Document, EAD, work permit); or
  • I-94 (Arrival/Departure Record) or admission stamp in the unexpired foreign passport.

So for those who have lost both their SS card and their 2 year Green Card . . . you are S.O.L.

You are mistaken. And before being rude here again, please, do some research  BEFORE you are telling people they are  S.O.L.

Here is the link (and it's been provided with the answers, regarding replacing SS cards) , where it clearly states I-551 stamp should work as well.
