:( Yes, they don't seem to really follow the order.. i see many CC with scan dates way after me. It just makes me a bit nervous that they are taking more then a week to review my case.. I'm afraid of Checklists and such :(  I'm sure they will put your case under review any day now. Maybe it even is already and they just aren't telling you. Most of nvc phone operators don't really seem to know what they are talking about to be honest.

I've seen it on the NVC 2017 spreadsheet as well, some cases go into review early and it takes a little longer to get a cc. Hang in there, fingers and toes crossed you don't get a checklist!

Hi all,

I have a question about the timing of filing out DS-261. Two days ago we got a number NVC assigned and today I had available DS-261 to fill out. I did that. Now how long do I need to wait to pay the fees? Because I called and a lady told me to wait for the instructions up to 4 weeks, but I've been reading that it is possible to be earlier.

Thanks!

Yes, but they can only approve it over the phone once you receive your welcome letter from the NVC. Until then, you're not in their system.

This sounds about right. I just didn't get it when I talked on the phone with this lady, because she said it might be up to 4 weeks. I hope I'll get this letter faster than that!

Thank you once again!

It's possible that maybe they have to scan each petition they pick up from the mail room. Maybe yours is picked up but the reviewer hasn't gotten to it in their stack yet.

Someone please help me. We got a checklist in april for police clearance. We turned it in april 24th. I called NVC yesterday and i was told our case was reviewed and the police clearance was not from the right authorities which it is. I informed the lady the docs i submitted and she stated it sound right. She stated she will put in the case for supervisor review. I have called twice since then to talk to a supervisor and i was told none was available. I was told it takes six weeks for a supervisor review and my issue with that is that the police clearance will expire by ending of this month. What do i do?? Am really frustrated. Its been a journey and i dont want a second checklist.

I have seen where some people call and request to speak to a supervisor and when they say none are available they request that they call them back when they are available. Also, try calling right when they open or later in the evening after 7 pm. I hope this helps and I'm sorry this is happening. I know it's so frustrating.

yeah, because if you don't call them in to review it, it can take 3 weeks.. this is how you can save yourself 3 weeks.. so the day you get your email with your welcome letter, call them to approve it. Did you give them both the petitioner's and the beneficiary's email?  you can give those to them over the phone.

@Sharkans is from Georgia too but they haven't been online in a while.. would be great to know if/when they received their CC to get a better idea of when you'll receive yours.. I've discovered that you can get an idea of your CC processing time by looking at others from your country.. @April Mora called the NVC and they told her, "first come first serve" but the reality is, not everyone that works at the NVC speaks in every language. so this is why you can have some CC's get done in 7-8 weeks whereas others 9+ weeks..  Hang in there.. hopefully you'll get your CC very soon.. Also just because you're "under review" for a while, doesn't mean you have a checklist..  I don't get why some are under review for 1-2 days while others 14+..  Keep us posted..

yes, sadly I am the only one from Georgia who is active here and can't really compare my progress with others from my country. Would be great to be able to do that.
