Is everyone attending the interview with their spouse? I don't know if I'm going to be able to go and was wondering if this is going to look bad that I'm not there? I know I'm not allowed into the interview at the embassy in El Salvador, but what if they want to talk to me? I could try to go, but it depends on what day of the week it falls on since I'm already almost out of vacation.

I'm going to El Salvador the 18th of August to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and with everything we need to pay (last fee payment to the lawyer, medical exam, flights back and forth, etc.) I'm just not sure it's going to be feasible for me to go again in September/October assuming that's when the interview is scheduled for. Opinions?

Not required to go. :) What you can do is have him bring proof of all of your trips to there. (flight receipts, pics with him, family, and friends). ON our P4 letter, says the following..

"Petitioners are not required -- and at some locations, may not be allowed -- to attend the applicant's visa interview" So I wasn't sure if i could go.. Not even on our embassy website does it say if i can go or not.. But then i found out on my "consulate info" that I could go..

You're right, looking at your consulate info, it says you cannot attend your spouses interview.. So for sure, it won't be a problem for you. ;)

Just read the following from your profile. IT's a great story! love it. :) But just one question, did you end up learning Spanish?

===

We met on a website called italki in March of 2015. I wanted to learn Spanish and he was learning English. He sent me a message asking if I wanted to practice with him and we exchanged Skype information and the rest is history! I went to visit El Salvador for the first time in December of 2015 and again in February...and again in March...and May....and July...where he then proposed to me! We were married a month later in August of 2016 and started the process in September of 2016. Now we wait! It's so close and I can't wait to finally be together and (as much as I've loved it so far) kiss Skype goodbye!

Hello everyone, I searched on many websites and couldn't find any threads on NVC processing timing. I am living in pakistan and my wife filed petition on 27feb which was approved on 19th july and we received letter NOA2 on 25th july. They asked us to wait for 4 to 6 weeks before contacting NVC. So, my question is how long this whole process usually takes after receiving NOA2. If they will respond us for case number with 30 to 40 days how long should i expect after getting case number. Thanks in advance.

Hi @jafferi

Tagged you into this forum. Please read the first page, lots of useful info there that will help you.

Awesome! That makes me feel much better! I have about 12 flight receipts I can send with him lol and tons of photos. That frees up the extra money for me to be able to travel back and help him pack and fly back to the US together!

Si, aprendi espanol! No voy a decir q lo hablo perfectamente pero puedo comunicarme con el y con su familia y aun con las personas en mi trabajo y creo q eso es lo mas importante. ;) (Yes, I did learn Spanish! I'm not going to say I speak it perfectly, but I can communicate with him and his family and even some people in my job that speak Spanish and I think that's the most important :))

I'm happy to say I'm (mostly) fluent lol. I still make mistakes and learning a new language will be a never ending process. We speak mostly in Spanish which probably isn't good since he's the one coming to live in an English speaking country lol. I try to get him to practice more and he takes classes on Saturdays. I'll keep learning and he'll keep learning and hey, when we have kids they should be bilingual lol.

Hi,

It has been suggested to put your case number on each page in the upper right corner -I don't believe you have to put names on everything, but the case number will definitely help

Thank you :) I'll do that today!

I’m applying for an immigrant visa for my husband.  I have received the welcome letter with the document cover sheet, and I need help!  What document(s) do I send for proof of US Status, proof of domicile, and what are civil documents ?  For evidence of income how many pay stubs should I send ?  Any help is appreciated.

I believe our lawyer sent a copy of my passport as proof of US status as well as a copy of my birth certificate.

For evidence of income I sent the last 5 paystubs I had since i'm paid weekly, but I think 3 should suffice if you're paid bi-weekly. I also got my employer to write a letter stating my position, date of hire, annual salary and that I'm currently employed there. For proof of domicile you can provide bills with your name and address on them and I actually sent a complete copy of my lease agreement with my apartments lol. I don't know if that was overkill, but hey better safe than sorry.
