a query for couples who've completed their medical, what document did you take with you? just the p4 letter?

You'll need your P4 letter, bring your passport and a copy, and passport size pictures. That is what was asked at our medical center. When you schedule your medical appointment make sure to ask if anything else is needed.

Getting my documents together for interview...

i have a quick question...

do I have to bring 1-864 AOS to the interview with me knowing they had already received it in NVC package (didn't get a checklist)

My husband took a copy of the complete package that was sent to NVC (just in case something was misplaced). We did not have a checklist either.

Happy 4th of july everyone. Quick question: what's biometrics appointment?

The beneficiary gets their fingerprints taken at the biometrics appointment.

Hi, I'm not sure about Pakistan, but here in Laos I emailed the medical centre and asked what was required of us to bring. They wanted:

1. beneficiary's passport

2. petitioner's address in the USA

3. four 3x4 cm photos

4. interview (P4) letter

I would see if you can email or call the medical centre or hospital that you can do the medical exam at and see what they require you to bring. Good luck!

Hi,

I'm not sure which other thread to post this, but we just completed the interview yesterday. It was approved after asking only three questions:

1. Who is the petitioner?

2. When and how did you and you meet?

3. When did you get married?

A very positive experience. Staff at the consulate were very friendly and helpful. We'll go back next week to pick up the visa and my wife's passport.

I've submitted a more detailed review on the embassy reviews page. From looking at the USCIS statistics, it looks like only one or two IR-1/CR-1 visas get processed in Laos each month, so they probably don't see many people. That might be why they were so friendly there haha. On the other hand, I did notice they process quite a few K-1 visas in Laos.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if it's  only required for certain countries? Because my husband's interview in two weeks but he never scheduled for biometrics neither stated in his p4 letter

Oh that sucks!! Ok not sure about your visa type but ours expires 6 months from when we have our medical visit.. So if this is the same case for you, please make sure you move/enter the US before your visa expires, don't want you to have to do all this over again. Good luck prepping for the interview. :)

It's the same. Time starts ticking after the medical exam (6mos too). Thanks a lot. Good luck to you too.

Got my medical done here in Islamabad today.

Whoever has yet to visit Aziz Medical Center, the fee has gone up from what I last read from two year old posts. They charge ~22000 PKR now ($220). that includes vaccination.

The overall time it took was nearly 4 hours so plan accordingly. I'm still recovering trying to make up for my lost time by covering my duty at odd hours right now.

There were 3 couples I talked to. interview dates of 11, 11 and 24 July. none knew of VJ. goes to show we're still a tiny minority and the overall number of interviews is way too big.

The order of check up is paper work submission, photo is taken and token is assigned ( a barcoded wrist ribbon), Height, weight, blood pressure, x ray, blood and urine samples taken, then  doctor questions about medical conditions and history, and full body checkup with your clothes off and then vaccination
