i don't know because cc after me is getting interview dates. we also have two holidays in august

If it takes any longer, you could always email your embassy and request they schedule. Another vj'er posted a template earlier in this post.

I think I called them and there was fine print that certain aircraft were restricted like the Boeing 777s which were also a United restriction.  They also cannot commit prior to you booking a ticket so I don't want to end up at the airport with a pet in hand that can't come with me

You have to call them before at least 48 hours before your departure to let them know you are bringing a pet (it's better if you call right after you book the flight), though, because they restrict the number of pets per aircraft and they usually go by a first come first served basis. I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's really easy to find a flight on a different kind of aircraft, just look at the details when booking a flight  Good luck with your husband's interview and hope you get it all sorted out!

I might have missed a few things in the beginning since I was not present at the interview but I tried to add as much detail.  Thank you VJ family for your tremendous amount of support in the past few months. My husbands interview was scheduled for July 14th 8:30 am. He arrived there around 7:15.
Around 7:45 he was asked to get in the queue. The guards requested to see his passport and appointment letter. He explained to them that since our case was expedited we did not get an appointment letter and he only has an appointment confirmation that was emailed to him after we scheduled his interview online. They were okay with that and let him in without any issues. The immigrant visa applicants were separated from the non-immigrant visa applicants at this point. After his documents were checked and put in order by the staff he was asked to follow the red line and eventually was asked to be seated until his token number is called. He waited for about 35 minutes before his token number was called. An African American CO  greeted him in Punjabi and asked him the following questions:
Who is calling you?
How did you meet?
Love marriage or arrange marriage?
Who arranged it?
How did your families know each other before?
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
When was the last time you and your wife were together?
What does she doe for a living?
After that CO did some typing and said congratulations your Visa has been approved!
The CO was very warm and friendly and even joked around when my husband told him that he is an orthodontist.
Over all it was a great experience. He was not asked for any call logs, WhatsApp messages or pictures. Surprisingly they did not even ask for the w2 and AOS , even though we received a checklist for that!

Email your consulate. And try to reach to supervisor. This is the best time to call (evening).

some people did suggest to buy round-ticket and get refund

I think with more and more cheap airline company, sometime the regular airline does have discount

I paid around 950usd one-way ticket from Taiwan to Portland (transfer in Tokyo), I thought it was pretty fair price~
