Gonorrea test is a new requirement as of  last year I think. This one is listed for the uk site but I didn't see syphilis or chest X-rays listed either... unless it was shown in historical records.

can anyone else shed some light?

I saw gonorrhea tb blood test chest X-ray  and urine in London on travel.gov website but for San Jose Costa Rica I don't see tb or gonorrhea

The X-ray is to check for tb. If they xray shows anything suspicious they will do a sputum test. The results from that take 7-14 weeks. If they do a sputum test you can still attend your interview but the visa cannot be issued until they have the results.

@K&Kir Please see Cadtousa's response above. ;)

Cadtousa, you don't need your p4 letter to make your medical appointment. They may ask you to bring it to your appointment but don't need it to make your appointment.

And just a call out to everyone, your visa expires 6 months after you completed your medical visit.

Does this mean the medical can be scheduled without an interview date? I am a bit worried I won't have enough time to get an appointment at the ONLY approved doctor for this specific medical in the country and wait for the results in between the P4 letter and actual interview as my embassy isn't very busy. I just got case complete yesterday, so I wouldn't be scheduling ASAP, but I actually thought it is mandatory to have the letter when you at least go to the appointment. ... maybe not for scheduling then? Is that how you did it @JBMG? (Scheduled the medical before P4 letter?)

You probably could but wouldn't advise this because no telling when you could have your interview date..  Your visa expires 6 months after you completed your medical visit. Some people end up in Administrative processing for weeks/months after their interview.. So def not advisable.

I thought the same thing about us here in France, only 2 doctors approved but they had no problems scheduling us the day before our interview.

You can contact your medical, ask them how much time is needed before interview date. ;) In France, if medical is done in the morning, they have all results ready by 3pm the same day.  As I explained earlier, we're making sure with our local doctor all vaccinations are up to date before going to the medical.

Even if they're not busy, they understand that you need to make arrangements and will most likely give you a 4-6 week window to prepare for it. :)

Exactly, you don't need the p4 to reserve your medical appointment but will need it when you have your appointment.  Here is our timeline, can see we scheduled the medical before P4 letter. ;)

6/20/2017 CEAC status changed to "AT NVC" /AOS info gone - Confirmed CC on the phone
6/22/2017 Received CKLST COVER LETTER
6/27/2017 Received CC letter
6/28/2017 Called NVC, received Interview date - Aug 2
6/29/2017 Reserved Medical Appointment
6/30/2017 Received Interview Confirmation Letter (p4)
7/6/2017 Received Interview Confirmation Letter (p4) AGAIN.

Status changed to "in transit"

AOS is back and now says in upper right-hand corner
YOUR CASE IS CURRENTLY AT: PARIS (used to say NVC)
7/10/2017 CEAC Status changed to "Ready"

Hey! No worries dear :)

You can take your mobile, just turn it off before you enter. Be sure not to bring any other electronic device with you and make sure you don't have any sharp objects of any kind (tweezers/nail files... things like that) in your purse.

I say bring the X-ray, even though they won't take it. When we handed her the package she opened it and handed Ahmed back his X-ray CD. His X-ray CD was not separate but enclosed with the package. So if yours is separate, bring it anyways... it never hurts.

Yes bring any chat logs you can. It maybe that the CO won't even look at it or even ask, but bring whatever information you have that proves your constant contact with your husband.  Going with too much information is better than not provide enough.

God Willing everything will go well. Wish you all the best and truly you are in my duaa.

If you need anything else you can message me anytime. If you would like a detailed review of my husbands interview last June you can read my review here. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=21979
