POE Abu Dhabi update.  No questions - except confirmation of address for green card mailing. Also had two daughters with me on tourist visa.  Only one question 'how many days for'.  No other docs at all.

Thats awsome!! Have  a nice time....

@KaurN - please stick to the details of the P4 letter shared by @JBMG. You don't have your P4, so this might help you in keeping a check on your documents.. is your interview on 13th??? Good Luck!!

Hello Everyone:

Both Medical and Fingerprints are complete. The medical results should be ready this week. For my husband they took a picture and did fingerprints. For my stepson they only took a picture of him (no fingerprints) because he is under the age of 14.

I am sharing this because originally when I called the 703 phone number to inquire about the bio metrics appointment they told me he didn't have to attend. When I called back the next day they told me that he (my stepson) would have to attend. I told my husband to take him to all appointments.

Now only waiting for the interview next week. I will be flying down to attend it with him. :)

Good Luck to your Interview!! :goofy:

Hi everyone, I could no longer reply on the last thread so I figured I'd do it here! My husband's interview at the US embassy in Cairo is tomorrow, July 12th! It's an early one so I won't be able to sleep at all. Wish us luck, it's been a long journey. Anyone care to tell us their experiences with the Interview in Cairo would be most helpful. I know he'll be ok, but I'm so nervous!

Good Luck @SamRab!! :goofy:

Hello All,

Preparing AOS and IV package.. sharing my understanding as below .. please suggest if this need any correction

Please see the list of docs required for our NVC package prep.

3 Photocopy of the biographic data page of beneficiary’s passport
4 Certified copy of the birth certificate of beneficiary
5 Certified copy of the marriage certificate
6 Original police clearance certificate

Other Supporting doc
  Photo of marriage, travel
  Photo of call log screenshot

  • You would be getting a checklist from the NVC containing the barcode. You would need to put the sheet on the top of all the documents. You also would need to tick against the items on checklist which are included in the package.
  • So I guess , you have everything which is needed at the moment. Except that you would not need to include any supporting docs. The supporting docs will go in as Proof of Relationship when you have your interview.
  • Also, you send the copies to NVC, no originals at all. You should have the originals to the interview. NVC always stresses on copies.

It will look something like this

Well it's a good sign that they took your passport as they need the passport to include the visa in..  It would be a bad sign if they didn't take your passport.. Did they tell you how many days it would take to get back to you?

No he didn't not mention any time.

I just received packet 3 from the embassy in Johannesburg. I scheduled the first available appointment which is Sep 26. They only had that and Sep 28 available for the rest of the year. We called and they said those were the only dates available for immigrant visas for this year. I don't know how that can even be accurate, unless there is a mass exodus going on in secret.

So our expedite request was approved on July3rd the embassy received the case on the seventh and we just scheduled the appointment for Sept 26.

Fellow VJ members,

I assumed I received a CC on 7/7/17 but I received the below email from NVC for a check list notification last night:

Based on the last paragraph, it appears I can obtain the document prior to the interview. Is this the case or do I need to mail it to NVC

Congrats!! :)

Just saw your review at the following link. :) Thank you for sharing! Wishing you much happiness in your future!! :)

http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Poland&page=1&dfilter=5&topic=IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Had the interview on July 11, 2017 with an 8:30 appointment. We arrived at 8 or so and the line outside was already long. We (husband and wife as beneficiary) waited in the line for about 25 minutes before finally getting inside. The lady at the door was very nice. Spoke perfect English. She immediately takes your phone and hands it over to the door people. They were all very nice. They give you a number card so when you exit, you can retrieve your phone back. We saw a woman on the outside who had an iPad and the door lady told her those were not allowed. I'm not sure where and how they kept that. So don't bring big bags, laptops, or tablets. They won't allow it inside. After we were in, we had to put our belongings through a airport security style check-point and we were allowed through. You go straight theough a long glass hallway and enter into another part of the building where you walk downstairs and there were 2 other gentleman taking the courier service registration paper from us and slapped a barcoded sticker on the back of my wife's passport. We were then instructed to go into a waiting area and take a number from one of the desks. We waited about 25 minutes. Once our number was called, the woman behind the window took some of our original documents, passport, 2 photos, marriage certificate, her birth certificate, police certificate, my joint sponsor's recent taxes and gave us back some copies of the documents we had originally sent in along with some older photos. That was it. She asked me (staying in Poland on a temp permit) how long I've been staying and I told her that information. She then instructed us to wait to be called up again for finger prints. We waited another 20-30 minutes and they took the finger prints. Then we were instructed to sit down and wait for the consulate officer to call us up. We waited for another 30 minutes and he called us up. He was a very nice American guy who didn't really ask us any questions at all. My wife was swore in, he asked me (not my wife) when we planned on going to the US, and I told him that info. After that, he told us congratulations, you're approved! Wasn't much of an interview at all really and it was a very easy and pleasant experience. The actual interview part lasted less than 2-3 minutes. There are bathrooms next to the waiting area, a vending machine (with mainly soda, chips, and other junk. They did have woda gazowana), water fountain, and they also had a play place for the kids to run around and annoy you. Whole process probably took 2 hours from getting in line out front to leaving. We came extremely over prepared.

I received a similar checklist , and after talking to rep I was told that I could take the police certificate to embassy. Besides, today I received email from NVC mentions that they have all documentations and I am in queue for interview. Don't worry you will receive the email in a couple days.My CC was July 3rd

That is great news to hear that you can take the required document to the interview and not have to start all over again with the NVC processing. I appreciate the response and I hope you receive a interview notification soon. Keep us posted!
