That is correct. You can definitely give NVC a call for a status update.

I am calling them every day. This morning they told me that there's no news.

Confirmed it with the consulate. They said it is not required. See below:
"As per our specification we do not require any stamp for PCC in passport, for further processing original PCC is required form passport office or local police authorities. "

Wonderful! One less stress. Phew!!

Good luck!

My wife got approved at her interview this morning.. We are probably staying in Montreal till the visa packet arrives in the mail here.. The interviewer said it could take 2 weeks. I read of someone getting there's in 2 days! would like to know so we can plan..

Congratulations!

POE Abu Dhabi update.  No questions - except confirmation of address for green card mailing. Also had two daughters with me on tourist visa.  Only one question 'how many days for'.  No other docs at all.

For May and June, they didn't give out any dates after the 30th.. I hope this isn't the case for you guys.. mdpilot got one but i think it's because his case was expedited.. Keep us posted.

When we got expedited the process changed from NVC providing the interview date to scheduling it ourselves, basically it switches to DCF. Did anyone notify us of how to do anything? No. I found out what to do by researching on VJ. NVC said the Embassy would contact us. If that was the case I'd still be sitting here waiting.

That is exactly what I went through when my case was expedited. Had I waited for the embassy to contact me I wouldn't have gotten anywhere yet. Its always good to be proactive.

Hi @justwaiting17 congrats on your success.

Can you please share your wife's interview details. I am going to the same consulate so it may help me to prepare.

Also for Visa packet, I believe it comes to your home address in Canada via Canada post so I am not sure why you are staying in Montreal till it arrives. Did you give any Montreal address to deliver Visa packet or your home address is itself in Montreal? Visa packet takes around 4-5 days as per knowledge. But sometimes it may take more days.

Hello friends

My husband had his interview at CDJ Mexico on July 6. He was put in administrative processing. Is there any way I can track the progress other than Ceac. Thank you very much

I don't think so.. for now you just have to wait until it gets processed.. Did they say how long it will take?  But here you can find  Visa Status Examples / Stages. To see the examples/descriptions of each stage, please scroll down after clicking on the link.

I did find the following.. maybe this will help.. you can add yourself on there.

Yes, include whatever is requested on your p4 letter.

Also the following:

-A copy of your p4 letter.

- petitioner's proof of domicile.

- photos for your visa? But maybe you can take them at the embassy if they have a photo booth..

- ds-260 - print a copy of the receipt page from ceac.state.gov showing you submitted the

form online.

Don't have a P4 letter since our case was expedited.

Does my passport and a copy of my drivers licensee work for petitioners proof of domicile?

Got the photos already and a copy of the DS-260 page.

Congrats @Auds ....

Appointment was at 9 and we got to embassy at 8:30. They gave a laminated paper that says what they'll be needing and to put it in order for when they ask. When in the waiting room we had to wait about 1-1/2 hr till they called wife's number.  needed to give everything they requested in the customized emails basically. In the interview the lady just asked my wife simple questions to do with her and me and her border crossings. Didn't need to show any of our supporting evidence of relationship.

Basically if you have the items they want and you're honest you should pass.

My wife had been with me on a visitor's visa in the U.S., so mostly all her belongings are at my home already, which is the reason why we're staying in Montreal. And I'm only 8 hour drive to Montreal, versus her being from Manitoba
