To speed up the process of passing security checks and to save time, you need to make sure you do not carry items that are banned for submission to the Embassy.

The insertion of rucksacks and large bags is not allowed and may result in denial of access to the Embassy.

Laptops, tablets, bags and other forbidden items on the list can not be left with the guards.

Additional list of items forbidden for submission to the Embassy:

Electronics
Dangerous items
Bottles
Foods
Sealed envelopes
Sealed packages
Sprays, perfumes and other liquids

wow, that's interesting.. i guess every embassy has a different list.. In Paris it's the following.

"Many items are strictly forbidden on the Embassy grounds.  No food or drinks allowed. Electronic items, anything with a power plug or battery, (laptop computers, cell phones, Ipods, Blackberries). Guards will hold cell phones and small cameras during your visit. Large bags, suitcases and luggage are prohibited: there are no storage facilities on Embassy grounds.  Service animals with documentation are allowed entry. Applicants who do not follow these instructions will experience considerable delays at the security check point which could result in the cancellation of the appointment."

Where is the checklist of the documents they have asked for? This is the general guidelines in the letter. You would have received the list that you need to take to the interview like tax return, w2 etc

A photocopy of the originally signed for isn't considered as an electronic copy?

Electronic copy means the documents you have sent through email (scanned) to NVC and they have never seen your signature on real paper. For all the documents sent electronically to NVC, the original signature are required to be taken to the interview.
