You know, I was nervous opening the second one. I have booked my ticket already and made plans, so yeah, I was sweating a wee bit.

Thanks PP.  I agree, very frustrating if people aren't putting in the right data.. I hope the majority of us are. Fortunately we are able to see trends in certain areas of the processing with few anomalies..  Yes they exist, could be real or slightly distorted for privacy reasons.. But it's a learning process, you and the your fellow march scan dates were there from the start, we built it from 2 columns to what it is today.. For me, my biggest frustrations are those that add themselves to the spreadsheet but never come back to update it.. Overall, very happy for eveyrone's help and keeping it up to date. I know it's def been helpful for me and i hope for others as well. 

 

And I thank VJ for bringing us together. This community has been amazing. Maybe one day we'll all do a VJ meet up. hahah.  

 

Hang in there PP, appreciate your updates and commitment on keeping us up on our toes.  Please continue to share your experience and know how so that for many years to come, other families will be able to benefit from it.

No nothing helpful and the responses from different people on other forums didn't look promising to me. My parents have managed to get another copy of my Birth certificate from the authorities. So have the unlaminated one as well to be safe. Though would still insist the embassy to accept the laminated original as neither its mentioned specifically anywhere in the appointment letter nor on the website. Also when asked they didn't give me the answer. They said they can't comment on that..that's weird isn't it?

My husband just told me that his DOB certiticate and our marriage certificate is laminated. But I really don't feel like stressing out about it right now lol

About the marriage certificate I am sorted. Coz Delhi gives certificate with digital signature and you can download as many from their website using your ID/password. But yeah I understand what you mean. My father tried and we got the other copy issued for birth certificate and that made me little less stressed out..I would have still gone without 2nd copy.

I booked my medical for next week hope it will go fine and keep going

my status says it's ready at my embassy and documents receive on the 7th July and the other says its in my consular Nairobi.

@KaurN & @SP&SP - Well don't fret... @MLK2016's wife was also denied a tourist visa; she had a fraudulent reason. But they did mention the same on DS260. He did mention that it came up during the interview (you can read his review). The CO only asked if she was denied a tourist visa. They are approved now and are happy  

 

Being truthful about your entire immigration process is the key.

You can try. Like @JBMG suggested, you should call the NVC. I think its a valid reason .

Yes.. very normal  . That's the status when NVC sends in documents to the Embassy. It would change to Ready once Embassy has it!

I personally found the spread sheet helpful. I was able to find someone who is going to interview at our embassy a week before me. They will share what the interview was like, and I appreciate that. I thank @JBMG for his effort.

I totally agree with you both .. we aren't here to lie and put in false information. We are here because we actually understand the pain of being away from our closed ones and to have a better understanding of this process. And to also not have any glitches or delays around this process. We are here to seek information, to help with as much information we can have. 

 

@JBMG's sheet has been a enormous tool to figure out NVC's pattern of working with consulates around the world. Ofcourse we need to be careful about disclosing personal information and I earnestly believe that everyone is guarding their personal details at the best. But I do not believe many could lie...

Guys; I wonder if I could have medical exam done before getting the interview letter. My case completed on July 3rd and I have not received interview letter yet.  I live far away from Athens and I need to be there for another reason this week on Thursday, so It would be great to have the exam performed while I make there...

Your visa expires 6 months after the medical. Contact the medical doctor on file, ask for the list of vaccines needed, you can get any missing vaccines with your local doctors. Also ask if possible to do your medical visit the day before your interview. This is what we're doing as we don't live near the approved medical doctors.

Most of the medical centres insist on the interview letter to get your medical tests going. I suggest you call them up and check if they are happy to give you one. Also these reports are valid for 6 months from the date this test is conducted. So I suggest you plan things.

 

Did you check the spreadsheet, if the embassy in Greece has started to issue interviews?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I checked the spreadsheet however Greece has not begun issuing the interviews yet.
