Woke up to our P4 email, now I have to read up on what is next! 

 

@amul- what's your husband 's interview date??

@amul- as per the spread sheet snd and your timeline, your interview has been scheduled for 15th August in New Delhi.

That does raise an alarm 🚨!!

How can you get an interview date on a Holiday?? That too in Embassy in New Delhi which comes under high alert during 15th August!! It's impossible for public to get around US Embassy in delhi on independence day.

I use transfer wise.. not sure if they have your currency though.. Very affordable rates (better than my bank) to transfer from my euro account to my dollar one.. And it can be done from anywhere..

You surely need to do that. And also on the date and time of your husband's interview.  15th August is Indian independence day and a holiday @ us embassy too.

Luckily I can leave any amount over and above 10k into my Indian bank account.

Hi Amul. Same thing happened to us. Received a 2nd p4 letter.. The only difference (that i know of) was the date on top. But then I thought to check my CEAC status, and sure enough, it changed to the following.. 

 

In Transit

Immigrant Visa Case Number:

PRS2017xxxxxx

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center. 

 

Then on the page where the AOS goes away, came back and the following changed from "NVC" to "Paris"  

 

CASE NUMBER:	PRS2017xxxxxx
VISA CLASS:	IR1
YOUR CASE IS CURRENTLY AT:	PARIS
FOREIGN STATE OF CHARGEABILITY:	FRANCE

 

So Maybe it's a new thing they're doing.. who knows with the NVC.. Please let us know if the same happened to you.

Great catch PP!!  In France, the American embassy is closed on American and French holidays. So def makes sense that the embassy would be closed on Indian holidays..

 

@amul Def reach out to the NVC to see what's up with that date. Poor thing, don't want your hubby to show up and it be closed..

@SP&SP Help me get a clearer picture please -- would you say that the following statements below are correct?

1. You were denied a tourist visa to the States while you were on a K1 visa 
2. You were on a K-1 visa and due to inactivity it was cancelled
3. You are now married and on a CR-1 visa

Can you share -- are you married to your fiancee whom you had the previous K1 visa with?

Major concern would be falsifying any info on the tourist application (example: claiming being married when single etc.) -- this might very well be a deal breaker if and when caught. 

He was denied due to lack of evidence that he would return.
