Posted in another thread, so thought I should post it here as well :D

I have not received any updates and didn't receive a response to my SR raised in Oct, so I raised another one today.

However I thought I should stop by and let those of you know, who are still waiting like me and need to use their AP.

I was able to re-enter US smoothly using my AP last week. The officer was friendly, didn't ask a single question from us and politely told us that my husband should wait in baggage claim and that I'd have to go to secondary since they cannot clear APs at their stations. I just had to wait a little and then was handed over my passport and combo card without any questions asked.

In other news, my mother-in-law, who's also an April filer, received her green card today. :D Her online case status is still at "fingerprint fee was received" for some reason

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this and I'm quite nervous about my application. I did the concurrent filing of all the forms for marriage based adjustment of status (F1) on September 19. I have since received confirmation of acceptance (09-25) and done the fingerprinting appointment (10-12). Before the holiday (12-13) I received a pink letter requesting initial evidence, apparently we did not fill the sponsor form correctly. So I filled the form again and sent it back the next day. Today I received a notice about the medical examination that I should get for later.

Now, will all these things I have been receiving from the USCIS, my case status their website still have LUDs (ALL of them) as 09-25, "your case was received". I have no idea what is going on with my case and how long I will have to wait before I receive my EAD/AP. I am particularly nervous about the AP since I planned our oversea honeymoon in March (thought I'd have enough time). Shall I make inquires about the online status? Or should I just try to expedite AP now that I still have a chance to cancel honeymoon (bummer).

Thanks!!!

I don't think a planned honeymoon would be viewed as a reason to expedite AP but you can try.

As for the online status updates, my interview is scheduled but it never changed online.

So we finally got an update on our case.. interview was cancelled (we never got any notice of an interview being scheduled). Has anyone else run into this? We submitted October 2016, and responded to an RFIE on i485 in January 2017. Our status since Jan. 2017 has just been RFIE response received until today when it changed to interview was cancelled. I'm not sure exactly where this leaves us now. Has anyone had a similar experience/any advice on what to do?

I just saw someone with a similar experience here on VJ. Don't worry about it would be my advice, they'll get to your case eventually. Is your office really backlogged? You seem to have waited really long.

Hopefully, at least we know that they have at least picked our case up. Every time we went in for an infopass appt, it was always "we don't have your case here yet, it's still at the NBC awaiting background checks" for over a year. I don't think our field office is particularly backlogged, they're processing cases as of Feb. 1st, 2017 which is a few months past our initial filing and almost a month past our RFIE response date (if the RFIE "resets" the clock).

We just moved and I'm sure that's one of the main reasons why it got cancelled, but we never had one scheduled to begin with and to our knowledge it hadn't reached the local field office yet. If we had known about an interview being scheduled we wouldn't have even bothered changing the address and would have just flown back for it for the sake of time, lol  :bonk:

On the bright side, our new field office is processing cases as of April 2017, so fingers crossed that it will be a speedy process to get that interview!

Hey everyone!

I just thought to drop an update that we had our interview today and got approved shortly after the interview. Although the officer told us that we'd hear from them in the next few weeks, I received the status update sms in about 30 minutes after the interview. I'd post a detailed account of the interview soon. For those of you still waiting, hang in there!

Cheers! :D
