Sister has to apply on her own and provide her own ties to her country. There is no sponsorship. And you Cannot be 100% she will be admitted for 6 months. That decision will be made on the point of entry to the US. She might as well get 2 weeks. Thought 6 months is the "usual ". L

Her sister needs to apply own her own by completing a DS-160, paying $160 and scheduling the interview. The visa will be granted based upon her own merits. She'll need to prove her strong ties back home.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

The main issue is showing the sister has ties to her country.

If this is her first trip, maybe she should plan for a shorter trip. Saying she wants to stay in the US for 6 months could be an indication of weak ties. Once she is in the US, depending on her i-94, she can decide if she wants to stay longer and change her flight.

She just needs to fill out a DS-160, pay the fee, and schedule the interview. See http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-visaapply.asp. She should provide ties to return home such as a letter from her employer stating a return date.

What ties does she have? Will she be paying for her own trip? Has she traveled abroad before? Is she single or married? Unless she is fairly well off, taking a 6 month vacation in the US means she probably doesn't have strong ties that require her to be in PH.

Be prepared for the possibility that she will be denied. If she is single and under 40 year old, she will have a hard time getting a tourist visa unfortunately.  And like others have said, the fact that she can come for 6 months will suggest that she has no ties to her country.

I would suggest not mentioning the length of time unless asked.
