Every visa applicant, approved or denied, will be in placed administrative processing. 90% of the time AP for approved applicants simply means they are preparing your visa package. However, there is never an certain answer to "how long does it take?" and sometimes an endless black hole for those who are denied. Administrative processing for approved visa's can be from half a day to a few weeks but mostly it goes to issued within a week. Good luck.

AP is just further background checks. Hopefully your husband's name doesn't hit any databases. AP can be as short or as long as it takes. All the best.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

In the simplest terms AP means they are working on your case. Anything involved with your case including background checks, reviewing of your documents, or even printing of the visa can be covered under the definition of AP.
