Has anyone done this?

Yes I did. Just remember to use the LaSalle address, not the PO Box. It was fine BTW. In fact highly recommended if you are a worrier because Fedex's tracking is way better than USPS, so you will know instantly when it is delivered, whereas in my experience, USPS can sometimes take days to have the delivery confirmation to come up on their website.

Of course, both methods will get the AOS packet to USCIS, as you will no doubt find out by all the people who will now respond telling you how they used USPS and it was fine.
