Hello, I am sponsoring Green card for my mom. My husband and I make over 200k annually combined and have total assets over 300000$(house value after mortgage, stock account and 401k). My husband is an stock investor and we had some losses over past 3 years which makes our adjusted gross income in negative in our Tax returns. Initially I used i-864ez and put my salary and gave them W2 which my mom carried with her to the consular interview. They looked at everything and gave us white slip saying we need a joint sponsor. Then we sent our assets values and all other related documents to them and again the embassy refused and sent it back saying we need joint sponsor. Does anyone have similar experiences? Why didn't they accept our new i-864 with the assets which meets the 125% of poverty(which is over 300000$ and both our salary slips)? any help would be much appreciated. We donot have/want anyone in USA to ask to be joint sponsor.

I think they are looking at your cash flow hence they asked your mom to get a joint sponsor for the second time despite your assets are more than sufficient. The negative AGI probably wasn't helping.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Best to do what they ask and get a cosponsor. Seems your assets aren't sufficient. Could be the negative gross income. <aybe they feel it will get worse when your mother arrives.
