Hi,

I hope you all are OK.

Almost two years have passed since I used my immigrant visa to come to US. Since the moment I got here, we have been preparing for the ROC. These are the documents we have gathered:

  • Bank statements from 2 joint accounts
  • Bank statements from 4 joint credit cards
  • Statements of T-Mobile with both of our names
  • Insurance documents with both of our names
  • Lease agreement with both of our names
  • Pictures of adventures and road trips

the thing is that we weren't very social all this time. Also he is not close to his family. I met his dad before he passed away a week after my arrival to US. I met his mom last year. They saw each other after 10 years. We have a few people who spent time with both of us included one of his brothers. We asked them to write an affidavit and one replied (my husband's friend) she didn't feel comfortable doing that. The others haven't replied our messages and one of my friends she worked on it immediately and it's actually encouraging me to send the package as soon as possible.

So we have these questions and we hope you can help us with some answers:

  • How important are the affidavits? the I-751 instructions say "at least two affidavits" but we just have one!
  • How do you send the package? You print everything and sent it like that? I'd say it is better to scan everything and send an USB.

Thanks in advance.

When your other evidence is solid, affidavits are not at all important.

Everything needs to be in papir format. Electronic submissions are not accepted (data security). Albums or other "bulky" items are not acceptable either, everything needs to be easily disassembled and scanned by the CO.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

I agree with A'n'L, affidavits are essentially secondary evidence, if you have a lot of primary evidence showing the commingling of the marriage you should have no issues.

Good Luck!

I am just worried because the instructions ask for "at least two" and we have just one.

Thank you. I'll send all we have and hope for the best.
