But I also don't think they did anything wrong, whether you think they should have been removed or not, saying they were "informed" is insinuating they brought it on themselves. They did nothing wrong. And when did I ever say supporting palestine equals antisemitism? I support a Palestinian state myself.

the antisemitism was from the links, not you.

if i go to a restaurant with a dress code and choose to wear something inadmissible, isn't it on me when i'm not allowed in? that's what i meant by it.

I wasn't referring to the media, I'm more talking about activists. You'd be hard pressed to find a protest by the left in support of Jews, or even posts or memes on social media by groups like occupy that ever mention Jews(like the one I posted at the bottom of the op as an example). It's always about everyone else but never Jews. Not that I think it's a competition, I just think sadly agenda plays a huge role there.

maybe you're not looking in the right places. progressives are not antisemitic, and don't have the support neonazis or any other antisemitic hate group to my knowledge. that's so contradictory to progressivism and inclusion (well the real definition of these ideals - not the definition provided by those who want to bash the left). i don't know why they would have an agenda of exclusion toward jewish people. plenty of protests and activists are quite concerned with the growing open bigotry on display in this country. i don't know what you've experienced, just stating mine.

It's clear from every act like this that it's 100% agenda. Guess the left are running out of minorities to place victim status on.

Ask yourself though, why bundle the two together to start with? Why can't they have a march for lesbians where everyone can feel welcome and invited and comfortable? How can you claim you're for inclusion, when you're only letting one group of people express their views and not the other? Maybe in their eyes they are for inclusion, but you can't claim you're for inclusion when you don't let all groups feel comfortable, it just doesn't work that way. So if that's what you are telling me they were doing then you're basically saying that this whole march was a fraud, even if those aren't the exact words you used. In either case they don't come out looking very good. And the hilarious thing is that in Israel gays are treated much better than they are by Palestinians(yes I know, more "pinkwashing" *eyeroll*), and in fact some Palestinian gays find refuge in Israel and are very active in the Tel-Aviv nightlife scene(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Israel).

 

Like I said I've gone on record in this forum many times before supporting Palestinian statehood and a two state solution, which I have believed in since my early teens...I believe in it because I am a practical person, and it is a practical solution to the conflict, and also because I take my belief in people's freedoms(which I've also expressed in the forum before) very seriously. That said, I am also one of the seemingly few on both sides who recognize the complexity of the conflict and realize Israel can't just unilaterally withdraw tomorrow morning and that will bring peace, because that simply doesn't work that way either. The people in the marches just don't seem to want to come to terms with that fact, it has to be done with an agreement and with certain security measures and so far, for various reasons on both sides every attempt has failed.

 

So while I do support a solution I also feel that alot of times those protests are full of anger, hatred and incitement, none of which are going to promote peace, and oftentimes they hijack other protests which I don't think should be done because everybody should be comfortable going to their own protest, whichever it is, without it turning into a pro palestinian protest and without getting kicked out for it. So the question for me remains why would you claim you're for inclusion if you're only going to let one group of people feel comfortable in your rally and you're only going to associate your march that is supposed to be about something completely different, with one group of people and not others.

Here's some irony for you: at a time when the vast majority of the Arab/Muslim world is getting used to the idea of living in peace with Israel, when relations with many Muslim countries are only tightening, especially the Gulf states...when Syrians are realizing and openly recognizing that Israel is not their enemy...it's the liberals in the western world who insist on living in the past with groups like BDS. Insane isn't it.

I don't think it's that I'm not looking in the right places, what I say is based on observations that are decades in the making. I completely agree with you it is contradictory to progressivism and inclusion, which to me makes it all the more absurd some so called progressives engage in this, but I don't agree with you saying "not the definition provided by those who want to bash the left". I see it as "the real definition of these ideals - not the definition of those who are only pretending to be progressive or for inclusion when in fact they're really not". This isn't something that's just being made up. They might not be "real progressives" and they might not be the people you associate with, but they do exist, whether under pretense or whatever, and they are hijacking progressive causes, jumping on bandwagons, and only damaging your image. I think the left would be wise to do what people on the right already do - realize and recognize that the issue is real, and root those people out instead of trying to pretend it doesn't exist.

The Chicago “SlutWalk” has reportedly banned “Zionist displays” following an incident in which several Jewish women were expelled from the Chicago “####### March” last month.

Organizers of the event announced their stance on Twitter, where they supported the Chicago ####### March’s decision to expel attendees who carried Jewish LGBT pride flags in June.

“We still stand behind ####### March Chicago’s decision to remove the Zionist contingent from their event, & we won’t allow Zionist displays at ours,” they declared. “[The Jewish women] were kicked out after a discussion where they made their Zionist beliefs known and refused to back down.”

The Chicago ####### March faced condemnation from various Jewish organizations last month after numerous Jewish attendees claimed they were kicked out of the event for holding Jewish LGBT pride flags.
